The comment(s) that likely got me banned, in response to that script we all saw of "If someone gets married, you use their new last name. So WhY cAN't yOu SAy eLLiOt??":

Just when I thought things were finally getting better and Twitter was taking a step back from their ideology bullshit, they do this. It happened about a day after Elon Musk backed out of his buyout, so I wonder if that emboldened them to keep on banning wrongthink.

I'll admit I was depressed about this, but I'm also aware that I fucked around and found out. Either way, what a shitty state of the world when major discussion platforms are doing this. What's even more depressing:

  • That article about Facebook/Instagram not moderating enough transphobic speech (because of course they should, right??).

  • Reddit just banned the word "groomer", and PinkNews says Twitter should do the same. Nothing says "There's no way I can prove to you that we're not grooming kids" like banning the word. Do you remember when they made fun of Karens calling "Karen" a slur? They can't even see themselves.

I dumped Twitter about a month ago. The algorithm is so off, and I had over 100 followers and almost zero interaction with any of them. They were quieter than church mice. Weird.

They were either all bots or your account was shadowbanned. Either way twitter sucks.

It wasn't shadow banned, there was some interaction but it was few and far between.

I know for a fact that they have used a tactic of following people they don't like all the way back to like 2005 ish. I helped find a ring of the early TRAs who were using the yahoo answers features to abuse the automatic moderation software. The only reason i know I was successful was because some of them made new accounts to come complain that Yahoo was transphobic for mass banning transgender people. Honestly it was probably like 5-10 people each managing like 100 accounts.

Just imagine the sheer power of bot farms now. I think the DNC is all in on social media- Facebook, YouTube, Google, Twitter and Preddit. All of them are compromised. I can't even use Google anymore because the results are awful for searching.

Like ONE PERCENT of the original accounts I followed a decade ago were still active. It's all socio-political / idpol shit on Twitter. It's gone downhill.

They do this to build a pretext. They telegraph their moves by writing articles about what they want to do in order to make it seem like there's a demand for that action. Even though these social media sites are often owned by the same people that own traditional media (Conde Nast remains the third largest magazine publisher in the US).

Not that it matters anymore, but you need to have more than one account if you're going to play the retard's games with them. Remember how they act when they're facing any level of pushback and criticism, and protect yourself accordingly.

I do have a second account, and I'm using it. About 7 years ago, I made it to follow NSFW profiles, which I've since unfollowed and moved to a private list (bless their cleavage). I'm using that one now and dialing it down with the GC and "retard" comments. I know I prolly had a rap sheet with my primary account, and this was the last straw. If anything, it may have been a third strike, as I'd been suspended twice before.

They have a massive Google doc of wrong think accounts to report among other methods, TERFBlocker (which I believe has some connection to Aimee Challenor), Shinigami Eyes (whose creator has had sexual assault allegations made against them). Now why would such upstanding people want to silence groups who are more likely to call out predatory behaviour? It really is a mystery

I can confirm that one of my tweets went big time viral in 2021, and I saw a lot of screencaps of it with red text, which indicated that app had flagged me as problematic.
