I also had lots of students who wrote their pronouns as “nor/mal” or “attack helicopter.”

Based high schoolers. Maybe there is hope for the future.

That's not an inclusive environment, that's forcing your students to publicly pledge their allegiance to the rainbow flag.

TL;DR: Got trolled by some of the kiddies, why won't they just stop thinking for themselves?!?

Edit: And fuck me, but that pretentious little cocksucker who answered is a piece of work. Full on thoughtpolice and reeducation advocate in effect there.

Look... if we can't police thought how are we supposed to guide students to having acceptable beliefs and opinions.

It gave me a negative first impression about some of the students

And zero self awareness about what kind of first impression it gave the students about her.

Yeah, I read these stories from American teachers, not to mention, see them on LibsOfTikTok, and it just makes me think, why are American teachers so interested in the genitals and sexual preferences of the children they’re supposed to be teaching, and why do they spend so much time thinking and talking about these things?

Seriously, if anyone said I had to use anything other than standard, normal, non-retarded pronouns that match the pupils’ sex, I would laugh and explain that most days I struggle to remember the names of my class of 30, asking me to remember to do more stuff, especially stuff that’s borderline paedo shit, is not going to happen.

My reply to that “teacher”: Teachers are supposed to teach children, not groom them, don’t be a groomer!

I don't know if American teachers are as underpaid and under educated as they claim but that would certainly explain why the job attracts so many people with an alternative motive to push their worldview. Much like unpaid mods on reddit. They are getting something more out of that position than money.

My mom was a a high school teacher, and there's a reason she homeschooled me. She saw first hand how incompetent and apathetic her co-workers were, and how dangerously stupid the retarded monkeys she was supposed to teach were.

I've known a few American teachers and worse than the pay the administration is such shit to deal with that most anyone who isn't a straight up idiotic numbskull that completely lacks a backbone gets the hell out. There's a small minority of really passionate teachers with enough social skills to navigate the bullshit well but most will leave for better jobs if they've got any sense. I think paying teachers more would help to attract better quality applicants. Similar to police, you get a lot of people who just get off on lording their authority over people that can't just up and leave since nobody else will put up with their bullshit.

I’ve heard that the vast majority of Education faculties at US universities are captured by the post-modernists and function as indoctrination camps. The one thing that prevents that happening in England (S,W and NI have different systems) is that there are multiple routes into teaching, including some that are not controlled by universities.

My based middle schooler made an anti-trans rant for their first "get to know you" assignment in the art class with a giant rainbow flag in the classroom.

I told him if he catches grief for that sort of thing to ask why they're talking about sex in middle school art class

I live in a blue state, but in a suburban area with plenty of conservatives

i love the automatic defensiveness, as if political climates have anything to do with what high schoolers think is funny. "they must all be trumpers, already lost to the cause." yeah or they think you're a joke.

the response is a hoot too. this stupid "anti-racist facilitator" doesn't realize his job is a crock of shit cooked up by the biggest untouchable bigots in the world running fortune 500 companies all covering their asses with compulsory sensitivity training. fucking chump.

"I’ve trained tens of thousands of corporate employees on diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and anti-racism"

You've droned on in front of absent-minded, glazed-eyed professionals whose friendliest reaction to your shit is an eye roll after the session.

You're a waste of money and a leech. With your non-productive fake job and your sadly predictable "vaccinated af" T-shirt.

I have never heard anyone speak positively of corporate 'sensitivity', DEI or anti-racism 'training'. I believe that there is a dearth of evidence to support the notion that it makes workplaces healthier and more productive. If it appears that way, it's only because we've all learned to recite the mantras and keep our true opinions hidden.

Time to pull your kids out.

    [–]HiddenFox 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

If they’re in my class, they’re going to fall in line and do it respectfully.

And what if they don't? Then what? Going to bully them until they do? Threaten to remove them from their school and friends until they comply?

Not that many kids would have the skills, maturity and temperament to confront this person. That's why kids are such a great target for indoctrination . They will pretty much do anything someone with authority tells them to do. And if you repeat something enough they will accept it as the norm.

Children don't have the skills to critically think. That why we have laws to protect them.

So new trolling level, then. Use completely retarded pronouns like bun/bunself that only the biggest retard of the rainbow umbrella would use. She'll either have to use the stupid ass pronouns all year when addressing them or be a bigot herself by confronting the student on the prank based on appearances/perceptions... Checkmate stupid bitch.

Nor/Mal. Then have some Tumblr word diarrhea prepared for why it's not a joke and a true identity because you feel normal for yourself and the school HR department on hotline to file complaints against the teacher for failing to respect your gender identity every single time she makes a mistake. 50% of the kids in the class do this, this shit ends tomorrow.

It doesn't work since they WILL use those stupid pronouns.

If you're doing that, go all in: Pick a racial slur for your group and make your pronouns [slur]/[slurself], then smile and say "Either you will use my pronouns and you're a bigot and I can get you fired, or you do not and you're transphobic and I'll get you fired. Either way, you not only lose, but become your villain. Checkmate."

    [–]Femaleisnthateful 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is my thought. If I were a parent at this school, I'd call up and demand to know why the teacher is invalidating my kids' identity and pronouns and how the teacher feels qualified to judge which identities are valid or not. I'd insist on him or her (I thought it was a male from the tone of the article) respecting my childs identity and ensuring bunself felt safe or else report them as a transphobe and have them fired.

    [–]iamonlyoneman 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

The other students didn't see each others answers but it still made a hostile learning environment for the theythems that these answers even existed? This teacher has drank the gender kool-aid for real.

    [–]Alienhunter糞大名 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It made a hostile learning environment for the teacher, her fantasy that the students respect her was broken.

Something dumbass teachers don't realize, respect is earned, not demanded. You can demand respect with authority but what you get isn't respect but fear. Fear makes people act polite while they hate you and the instant the fear is removed they will no longer be polite.

    [–]bopomofodojo 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

In the past two years since George Floyd’s murder, I’ve trained tens of thousands of corporate employees on diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and anti-racism

    Oh look a race grifter.

    [–]Alienhunter糞大名 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

"Worst of all, I’m afraid I ended up only creating a more hostile learning environment for my trans and non-binary students."

Hell yeah you did but even if all of your students were serious and didn't write "joke answers" (and how dare you assume that answers are a joke? How do you know that's not their real identity and you are just being a bigot? Is it your place to police what genders are real?), Even if everyone wrote serious answers it's still creating a hostile learning environment. You are giving the students in the closet a horrible choice, you are either forcing them to out themselves now before they are ready or forcing them to lie on the form to keep from outing themselves and experience disphoria. How could you be so ignorant and heartless to put your students through that trauma? What the fuck were you thinking?

There's an easy way to do this and respect all the students, don't do anything, if they want to tell you their pronouns, then they can approach you. If you force them to you are a horrible person and should rethink your suitability as an educator.

    [–]Doodle00 0 insightful - 1 fun0 insightful - 0 fun1 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is what I was confused on? If there are any trans/nonbinary students, how are they gonna know Joey put down nor/mal and Susie wrote attack helicopter?? Who does it hurt if no one is there to see it? She’s overthinking this heavily.

I used to be a regular commenter on the Slate boards back around 2015 but the troon mod banned me for something & I never bothered to create another account. In fact she (FtM) banned around 90% of the regular commenters in a great purge around five years ago. I'm guessing the combination of testosterone shots coupled with some preexisting mental conditions made her go a wee bit mad.
Anyhoo, there are some pretty good comments from some old buds who are still hanging out there. Here are a couple:

"Throughout my twenty year career....." I think some real teachers might have a problem with an "anti-racism facilitator and volunteer basketball coach" claiming this makes him a "teacher" of long-standing. Doyin, stay in your lane.

Unless you're able to enforce something in a serious way, a sizeable subset of 8th graders will likely care very little about your "class rules" -- especially if they think they can get a laugh or act out. This isn't a corporate seminar; these are middle school kids, one of the most challenging age groups to teach. Honestly, I'd love to see Doyin teach a group of middle schoolers because it would probably be quite amusing.

Slate is so fucked up. There are many stories to tell about how ugly woke internal politics turned a couple of years ago. I'll do a few posts about Slate in the coming weeks.

Here's a horrifying piece from a father turned writer, who enlisted the help of his wife & old college roommate to instruct his teenage son about masturbation best practices. (you might need a shower after reading this) https://slate.com/human-interest/2022/04/how-to-talk-to-a-teenager-about-masturbation.html

    [–]Alienhunter糞大名 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

“If anyone knows about tween masturbation, it’s your uncle,” I told him. “He was obsessed.”

Uh oh red alert red alert. Abort abort!

And in a science unit on sex and reproduction, he learned that mutual masturbation is a low-risk sexual activity for STDs.

Next they're going to tell him how to use the three seashells.

He brought himself to ejaculation on the toilet. I know this, because the first thing he did afterward was talk to his mom about it

😂 I'm glad I didn't go to school with this kid we'd probably have given him so much shit for this. Lol. Mommy mommy look I rubbed one out is it ok mommy. Christ.

A couple days later, he called again, this time to tell me that he’d masturbated a second time, too roughly. There was blood. ...... He’d been going at it like a physical challenge, rubbing and rubbing until he ejaculated.

No shit this is what happens when you keep talking to your kid about sex constantly with your weird ass sex positive shit. What makes you think the kid won't figure it out himself like you did? Now you've traumatized him. Good lord.

At 12, he’s yet to announce what kind of person excites him and said as much directly: “I’m not sure what turns me on.”

Twelve!?!? Geez I wonder why, maybe because he's not sexually mature yet you ignoramus.

"A few nights later, before bed, my son called me into his room. “Dad, if I seemed emotional earlier today, it’s because I was touching myself and I had an orgasm."

    Facepalm.

"Because of all the bullshit baggage I’d been saddled with, inhabiting pleasure, both by myself and with a partner, has been a challenge my whole life. I wish I could say it’s been healing to witness my son blossom open-heartedly into a sexual being, but the tide hasn’t shifted just like that for me. I’m hopeful, though, that one day I’ll experience such full-body joy without inhibition."

So you're hurrying your kid down some path you yourself don't understand in order to further your own sexual wakening? Kid admitted to you he felt shame and you didn't stop to think "huh I haven't raised him with catholic values why would he feel that" but nope don't feel shame at all, tell mommy and daddy everything about your masturbation habits little rascal it's good for you. Feeling shame about masturbation totally isn't an evolutionary response to drive people out of their caves to seek mates irl nope.

    [–]jet199[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

Also open sexual behaviour in apes is an aggressive behaviour used by males to show their dominance. If you do that shit in public some other man is going to hit you to put you back in your place. That's why you have a natural shame reaction, because other people have a natural hatred of seeing that shit.

    [–]Alienhunter糞大名 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Man the kid is basically being given all these books and things from the parents it's gonna fuck with his mental health more than the Catholic shit. It's like D.A.R.E all over again.

"Kid here's a book about how drugs are bad for you and how not to use drugs. This is called a crack pipe and it's used to smoke crack, it's bad for you but people think it makes them feel good so don't use it"

Kid: What's crack? I wanna try it now. Hey I've seen one of these in the Alley cool I just thought it was trash.

Uncool Adult: Drugs and tobacco aren't cool if you smoke them you aren't cool.

Kid: Awesome! Where can I get me some of that!

Uncool Adult: Just say no to those teenagers hanging out by the dumpsters walk away it's not cool.

Kid: Sweet I can get that shit from the teenagers by the dumpsters.

Only conversation you need to have with your kid about "self-exploration" is not to do it in a public place where other people can see you. Same reason why you don't wanna take a shit where people can see you. Goddamn.

    [–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

The biggest problem that I have with that article is that the father chose to not publish it anonymously. And I'm horrified that editors at Slate didn't think twice about the possible ramifications on the teenage son. Granted, the author points out that he cleared it with his teenage son, but fucking hell. The son is 12 fucking years old. He's a GD child. He's not old enough to process the ramifications of this being on the internet for the rest of eternity.
We know that teens can be some of the cruelest mofos on the planet. His peers will mock him throughout high school over this article.

Slate is a major platform, so this isn't just some random blog post. I guarantee you every kid in his school knows about this piece, and know about his masturbation habits. He will be probably be bullied over this. But did his father care? Did the editors at Slate care? No and no.

    [–]Alienhunter糞大名 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah I agree that's a huge oversight on both the fathers and slates editors. Though reading through some of this stuff on Slate I must say my bullshit detectors are going off. Especially on the "help I have this problem" type stores like the main one linked here.

They're good in the sense that they seem like they are real. But maybe I just still have too much faith in humanity.

Reading this article here it's like "damn this father is a clueless fuck" so honestly it wouldn't surprise me if he's just so far up his own ass he doesn't realize the potential bullying issues. He seems pretty clueless towards human behavior, if you asked him about he'd probably say something retarded like "well my son said it's ok and those bullies shouldn't be mean to him since I've raised him to be comfortable with himself he won't be effected ".

    [–]Wanderingthehalls 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Only conversation you need to have with your kid about "self-exploration" is not to do it in a public place where other people can see you.

I don't know. I fully plan on telling my son that he needs to get rid of his used Kleenex or rinse his own crusty socks out. I do not want to be finding them on the floor of his bedroom.

    [–]Alienhunter糞大名 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Fair. I'd consider leaving evidence as part of the general idea of not letting other people see you do it. Like you don't shit in the toilet and not flush.

    [–]Femaleisnthateful 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This article is such a clusterfuck. When even Slate subscribers are universally saying it's a terrible article full of bad ideas, that really says something.

When I was a tween, I was given a copy of 'Our body, ourselves.'

This kid appears to be on a fast track to sexual deviancy and public indecency.

    [–]Femaleisnthateful 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I used to love Slate back in the day. When the Dear Prudence column changed hands I began to notice a shift in tone. It started turning into a Dan Savage style column, where everything was somehow about sex and kinksterism. Now the whole website is basically PinkNews.

    [–]MarkJefferson 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Pronouns are not a choice, but used according to one's sex. Once you start to tell students it can be chosen though, and you don't also give them a list of allowed pronouns to choose from, you have consented to anything, even “nor/mal” or “attack helicopter” to be acknowledged and used legitimately just like any other made-up pronoun.

    [–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I wouldn't have minded my teachers calling me by my preferred pronouns, master or sir.
