In my experience, many women are initially accepting of trannies because they really do think they're just flamboyant gay men, along the lines of the gay bestie trope. However, it generally doesn't take long for trannies to show their creepy true colors and and get dropped. This has been my personal experience, as well. At this point, I don't know a single 'transwoman' who does not clearly have other co-morbidities that make maintaining any kind of non-toxic or non-predatory relationship with them possible.

All but the dumbest and/or ideologically captured women really want nothing to do with them.

Artemis comes across as a thoughtful, brave and principled person. Her fight for acceptance is so painfully personal -- her desire for friends, support and a social group that accepts her as she is and as she presents herself to the world is so palpable in this article. I wish her well and I hope that she take is able to take some strength from the thought that she is on the right side of history.

PS BTW, I have some experience with the cruelty of women towards women who are 6'+ and 200 lbs+. It is not easy to bear the gaze of the world when you don't fit into their perception of beauty. As one ages, it becomes easier to understand that true beauty is embedded in the soul and its virtues: honesty, gentleness, justice, charity, modesty, kindness, thoughtfulness and strength of character.
