On the other hand, this just killed a lot of the internet. There is so much useful information you could find only on reddit.

There's information you can only get on reddit.

I'm talking like if you have a wireless adapter only released on india with drivers only for windows and Reddit of all places had a guide on how to make it work on linux. This is the kind of stuff you only see 3 results out of a google search.

Not to mentions the communities that will simply die and stop producing content. This one I feel less, as all good things eventually die.

Yeah, the internet might really never be the same unlike loosing a woke news media or 2.

It's overdramatic to think the internet will never be the same without Reddit. Essentially, it's a place where people chat. The information you say that will be lost is in the minds of individuals, who's fault is it that they only shared that information on one site, or that Google algorithms only point to their highest paying affiliate? Perhaps the loss of Reddit would be a wake-up call for all those who've become too self-reliant on a single source of reassurance to their insecurities.
