Glad to see you posting this here. It would probably be good for all of us to start putting stuff here as well as on reddit so if the worst happens, it's not lost forever.

In a new article on the OffGuardian website, Mark Crispin Miller argues that we're being failed by left media's lack of attention to the authoritarian machinations that have become so prevalent during the burgeoning medical martial law response of Western governments to the pandemic.

He singles out Caitlin Johnstone, just about my favorite writer, for failing to address the situation in Australia in favor of focusing on Afghanistan. I do value her analysis, which I find clear-headed and excellent, but I must admit that I too have wondered what she might have to say about the political situation in her own country, which it almost seems she's carefully elided.

I have also found, to my chagrin, that the Grayzone have focused on foreign policy (which is admittedly their wheelhouse as an anti-imperialist outlet) to the exclusion of all but the most oblique references to the pandemic and the heavy-handed reactions by Western imperial powers upon their own citizenry.

There are really good places to go to find writers who do directly address the politics (read: overreach) of pandemic response, though, which he fails to cite or mention. Another of my favorite writers, Teodrose Fikremariam, keeps not only a critical, but perhaps more importantly, a humane eye on the authoritarian curtain that's falling on us in his articles on the Ghion Journal site. Also Luke Rudkowski's YouTube channel, despite whatever differences I may have with many of his other stances, along with his Twitter feed and his personal website, continues to show what citizens of other countries are doing in response to their governments' repressive actions, presumably trying to entice Americans to begin to stand up for their own Liberty in the same way.

It's a really good piece on the whole, but I only wish he had explicitly pointed to these and other exceptions that go against his largely correct thesis.
