What is the right way to post an image on SaidIt?

When I post an image by using SaidIt's button that says Choose File, the resulting post looks like this: https://saidit.net/s/WayOfTheBern/comments/bcsr/opposing_the_blue_team_means_youre_not_insane/

As you can see, there is no thumbnail or preview of the image visible in the post. You have to click the link to see the image.

However I see other posts on SaidIt that look like this: https://saidit.net/s/politics/comments/bco7/opposing_the_blue_team_means_youre_not_insane/

The image is directly viewable in the post, without clicking the link.

What are they doing differently from me? How do I make a proper image post?

UPDATE: I have found an image hosting site that works with SaidIt. It is http://midi.moe

midi.moe didn't work any better for me. Has it kept working for you?

I've had the same problem trying to link to imgur images but had better luck linking to other online images, like this post.

For this post, I uploaded the image from my computer to my Reddit profile page, opened the image in a new tab and used that link.

That's odd. I did not even upload it to Imgur myself. I used SaidIt's own file uploading method and it used Imgur for me. Yours isnt even uploaded to an image hosting site! very weird

Upload the image to imgur or something like that and link it. The actual image, not the page hosting the image

Despite the fact that SaidIt's file upload function itself is what uploaded the pic to imgur, and it did use a direct link, I tried again just now doing exactly what you said and using a link instead of the button. It did not work

That's fucked. My guess is that it's looking for <meta property="og:image" ... /> but since it's an image it doesn't work. OK try again but disregard my advice and post the imgur page rather than the direct image. It has the social media tags
