Why is SLAVERY legal in Africa unlike America who ABOLISHED slavery in 1865?

Why are there more slaves enslaved in Africa and India right now than was ever bought by whites from blacks and brought to America where we realized that slavery was wrong in every way and even fought a civil war to end slavery "long praise be the brave white men who died for black slaves and to end slavery"? Why do people not realize that they can take their American wages and go fight African SLAVERY RIGHT NOW!!!!!! Who is with me? END SLAVERY IN AFRICA AND INDIA, END SLAVERY IN AFRICA AND INDIA!!!! Private slavery was replaced by public slavery in 1865. Slavery has NEVER been abolished in the US. The US has the largest LEGAL enslaved population in the WORLD. The US at the end of 2023 had 1.8 million LEGAL slaves. This does not include the illegal private slavery population which is also thriving in the US.

There are more humans in the world than at any time in human history. A question is whether the percentage of enslaved humans has held fairly steady rather than the actual numbers. As you note, there are debt slaves as well as physically imprisoned slaves who are unable to leave if they wish.
