When they are unable to do this even with the printers running full speed, it's scary to think of what the situation looks like if you didn't have all the printed money paying off debts. A quarter of large corporations don't have assets other than the printing press to pay their debts? A third? If we start a pool, we may yet get to see the answer some time soon.

Maybe Evergrande knows something about the near future that would make paying off their "financial obligations" foolish at this time. Maybe they hope they will own it all pretty soon anyway. They may be wrong.
