Taliban eradicate poppy fields ending traditional cash crop for Afghan farmers, here comes 9/11 and CIA remove Taliban to protect the opium fields. Afghanistan is what Colombia almost became, a true narco-state like Mexico will be or already is. Why are certain drugs illegal? $$$$$$$$$$$$$

So what, are the US qualified to come in and exploit this wealth? Like they're the East India Company?

We have plenty of rare earths in America, as you doubtless know. Pay American workers a fair wage to get it or fuck off, neocon.

Don't know if you're joking but if anyone doesn't understand: he's talking about OPIUM production in Afghanistan. Opium is the juice of the Poppy that is converted to Morphine that is converted to Heroin. Heroin is a trademark of Bayer. Maybe you were joking Chip but that is for anyone else who is wondering why that darned war is lasting so long. The CIA began cornering the market on growing Poppies about thirty years ago and now they have done it and they need the US military to guard it because: BIG MONEY.

Brzezinski outlined this strategy in his 1997 book.

The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and Its Geostrategic Imperatives (1997)

Regarding the landmass of Eurasia as the center of global power, Brzezinski sets out to formulate a Eurasian geostrategy for the United States. In particular, he writes that no Eurasian challenger should emerge that can dominate Eurasia and thus also challenge U.S. global pre-eminence.
