I don't read anymore, sad to say. My attention span is extremely low, but it never used to be.

What changed?

Life, bills, relationships. City living also doesn't allow peace of mind. When I lived with my parents in the suburbs it was different, I was able to take in information a lot more efficiently, i had less worries.

I am rereading Joan Didion. Play It As It Lays is a lovely novel and The White Album is a book of superb essays about the era when Charles Manson was convicted of something even though he was not even present the night of the "Manson" Murders. Didion died this past December.

Never had the luck to read it. I may give it a shot. Thanks

It's about a young woman going through an existential crisis in LA. Life in the city is portrayed as meaningless. Didion has admitted that it is very much about her own life. It.s short and painless.

I've read a few of them:

One Hundred Years of Solitude - Great storytelling, and my introduction to magic realism. Gets a little disjointed towards the end though.

The Brothers Karamazov - One of my favorite books, you really feel like you're there with the characters instead of reading about them. Fantastic take on the human condition.

Crime and Punishment - Can't go wrong with Dostoevsky, a really interesting and unsettling take on the psyche of a criminal

Hamlet - Read it back in school and remember really enjoying it despite my expectations. Probably due for a re-read.

I share you the very impression. those novels are something else. They seem to be in a mission to unfold the true nature of human beings and unfold the secret of their incongruous psyche. Thanks for the feedback.

Crime and punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

One of the best books I have ever read.

One of the best I ever happened to read as well.
