TLDR of The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield:
Each person naturally emits energy, what psychics call our “aura.” When two people have conflict, the winner sucks away some of the energy of the loser, giving the winner a physical and emotional boost. The reason we have interpersonal conflict is because unconsciously we are all trying to get this boost.
The Prophecy is that the humans will learn how to harness this energy out of the earth itself. Once we no longer need to suck one another’s energy to fill ourselves up, we will no longer desire interpersonal conflict and we will become a peaceful species.
More Detail:
The book details the author’s, James Redmond, personal spiritual journey. It starts in the early 90s when he learns that an ancient archeological document dating back to 600 BC had just been discovered in Peru. The Peruvian government was trying to suppress this document, called The Manuscript, at the request of the Church.
The Manuscript contains eight insights, or steps, that each person needs to take in order to learn how to evolve into a peaceful species – to harness this energy from the earth for himself and to become a peaceful individual. The Manuscript claims that people would start to evolve during the last decades of the 20th century, and when enough people evolve, they will tip the scales of society and everyone else will follow. The Church is opposed to people knowing that spiritual evolution is possible because it undermines the Church’s authority and control. Ironically enough, though, it is monks who are spreading the Manuscript’s message because they feel like it is in-line with biblical teachings.
There are no coincidences.
We all have serendipitous moments where -- unexpectedly -- just the right thing happens at the right time to move our lives forward in some way. These serendipitous coincidences are actually offered to us more frequently than we realize, but we are usually emotional closed and thus miss them. For example, the person you sit next to on the plane could have changed your life if you’d talked to him, but you never said a word. The more you open yourself up to these “serendipitous coincidences,” the more frequently they will happen and the faster your life will progress.
You can see energy auras around people, plants and rocks.
The first step is to appreciate and love natural beauty. The more you appreciate color and shape of natural things, the more in-tune you will become with the energy fields that surround them. Some places naturally have more energy than others, such as mountain tops and old forests.
You can share energy with plants and other people
When you pour out feelings of love onto someone or something, you are sending your energy to the object of this love. In a reciprocal relationship where the energy cycles between you both, it leaves you both fuller and more energized. Currently, we focus on getting this cyclical energy from romantic relationships. This is the “in-love” euphoria we feel in a new love relationship. Unfortunately, relationship euphoria generally only lasts a few months.
The book asserts you can be equally euphoric by gaining this energy from Earth, as plants will also return this energy in a reciprocal energy cycle. You can re-fill your energy any time you feel low. You simply appreciate the beauty of a natural object, such as a plant, until enough energy comes into us to feel that euphoria. At that point, you can send energy back to the plant.
You need to stop sucking the energy from other people
We all unconsciously try to suck each other’s energy. The four tactics are:
• Intimidation – Taking energy by force
• Interrogation – Asking questions until you find a weakness to prey upon to syphon energy
• Aloofness – For them to get information out of you, it’ll cost them energy
• Poor Me – Getting people to feel sorry for you so they unconsciously let you suck their energy
We all have a favorite strategy. We need to be cognizant of our strategies and focus on breaking them. When other people use these strategies on us, we are to call them out on it.
Your calling in life is a combination of your parent’s philosophies on life.
Following this calling will make you feel self-actualized. The examples given in the book:
• James (author): dad believed in living with integrity while making the most of what life had to offer; a free spirit. Mom was believed in serving God through structured community service. His calling was to find the spiritual fulfillment church can bring but in a way that was not ritualistic.
• Wilfred (mentor): Dad believed the destiny of the human race was to perfect itself, mom believed life was about inner enlightenment. His calling was to help the human- race perfect itself via personal enlightenment.
• Father Carl (mentor): Dad was focused on achieving measurable goals, mom was focused on following spiritual direction. His calling was to find a way to fulfil defined goals (missions) via inward guidance.
Of note, the book says that taking your energy from others instead of from Earth derails you from fulfilling your calling.
Trust Your Intuition
Once you’ve realized your calling, your intuition will naturally guide you. You’ll be naturally more attracted to things you should pursue; they’ll appear more beautiful or luminous to you. You’ll randomly think about, dream or daydream about things – pursue those things. Be open to coincidences and ask questions about how this coincidence could possibly further your calling.
Analyze your thoughts, dreams and daydreams from an observer’s perspective.
• Why am I thinking about these things? How can these things move me forward in my life goal?
• Fear and anxiety will quickly drain our energy. Crush all negative, fearful thoughts and replace them with an image with a good outcome.
• Bad things always have a silver lining; find how these bad things brought you answers and helped you move forward as a person.
You can impart your energy onto others.
By voluntarily giving some of your energy to them, they do not have to try to manipulate to take energy and are thus more cooperative. By getting them to cooperate, you help them to open their own eyes, and in return they will share whatever information they have to help you move forward in your life. The book also stresses the importance of imparting energy onto children.
The Prophecy says that by the middle of this millennium, we will have 100% achieved our transformation. By then “technological wizardry” will automate and regulate the means of survival – food, clothing and transportation – much as utilities are now. As technology displaces jobs, more people will earn a living from “providing insights to others.” The rapture is supposed to happen in the third millennium, once people completely let go of all fear.
The book closes by saying there is a tenth insight yet to be found, and the author was going to try to locate it.
My Coincidences:
I’ve recently started following a website called Suspicious 0bservers. Every day, they post a 5-minute video on the latest news in weather, seismology and astronomy. A recurring theme is energy. They talk a lot about the natural electrical currents that run through and around Earth, Earth’s electrical connection with our sun, the sun’s energy, and energy patterns that are observed all throughout outer-space. All throughout astronomy there are examples of the symbiotic energy relationship described in Insight 3.
I follow a blogger named Caitlin Johnstone, who frequently writes about how society is built on narrative. He who controls the narrative controls society. The current parasite class rules via propaganda delivered in a confident tone. If we as a society reject the imposed narrative and create a new narrative in an equally confident tone, then we win because there are billions of us and only a few thousand of them. Our new narrative could be as simple as “we refuse to let you stop our natural spiritual evolution.”
My Thoughts:
Are the “Parasite Class” keeping us indoors during this pandemic so that we don’t have the opportunity to see the auras and connect with Earth’s energy? Why else would government authorities be aggressively chasing down and punishing people going for walks alone out in the forest?
Are the “Parasite Class” deliberately keeping us living in perpetual fear so that we can’t evolve to the next level? In addition to stopping our spiritual evolution, by stealing our energy via fear, they empower themselves and retain control over us.
Are they “Parasite Class” perpetually trying to pit groups of people against one another (ie right vs left, Muslim vs Christian, White against other races) in order to encourage hatred and keep us from moving to the next level of peace?
In many ways, The Prophecy has already started to come true. We, as a society, did shift in the last decades of the 20th century to value Mother Earth more. Many jobs have been displaced by automation, and it looks like many more are on the verge of going away thanks to technology (such as self-driving cars). And many people, such as YouTubers, are financially supporting themselves via “giving insights.”
