I think the Catholic Church controls the biggest pedo rings in the world, even being related to the Nebraska scandal involving several politicians. This is a reminder of the amount of money they used last year.

Moreover - settlements like this are often attempts to close the case without a trial - and will be paid in monthly installments by the defendent.

(These cases rarely go to trial, thus guilt is rarely - if ever - determined in this manner. Settlements are well-known in sexual abuse claims.)
