If there's anything that we should know by now is that society can't be build with a population that is possessed by greed. Sometimes I think that the only thing that keeps people from degenerating into downright savagery is the repression they would meet from the government, which is itself controlled by evil people that need to keep the illusion of normalcy running.

Values and ethics like loyalty and empathy need to be part of the moral system of a healthy nation. Otherwise it will degenerate into a breeding ground for psychopaths of the worst kind.
