I think there's been a push to make people cynical towards the idea of politics to the point of becoming completely apathetic. So even if It's true that the people who challenge the government are right and they have an ethical responsibility to do the same, since there's no options they would rather conform with what the majority thinks or simply give up on getting involved at all because the people in power are too strong like to be challenged at all...

People shouldn't conform with mediocrity at all. They have an ethical responsibility with their ancestors, themselves and the nation itself to protect the integrity of the institutions that are part of the government.
