  1. There would be a power vacuum that would need to be filled;

  2. Netanyahu would lose his boogeyman.

Control the boogeyman, so get what you want:

I feel like leftists would support Native Americans if they started committing terrorist acts and kidnapping Americans. Then would be against fighting back. Then they'd point out how the US govt had supported Native Americans in some ways in years prior and say they let it happen.
