Anytime someone tries to justify mass-murder of innocent civilians by citing God, I wonder which vile God would approve such a thing?

If people called on God to cause fire to come down from heaven onto civilians to consume them, we could rebuke them and tell them what Jesus said:

I respect God enough to not believe everything man has said or written about him. Like thinking he literally made bears slaughter 42 children for teasing the guy about his bald head.

There was no actual fruit though, it was a metaphor. Isn't it better to have knowledge and understanding than to exist under blind ignorance? That's what god wanted, that they live in ignorance. When they sought knowledge, they were punished, god is a vengeful piece of shit. Lucifer was cast down for his pride, and yet god was no more innocent than Lucifer of this making him a hypocrite too.
