Very normie friendly video. I've actually used this video to convert members of my leftist family to the anti mass migration position. For some reason it doesn't trigger the same reaction in them.

I showed my liberal friends and family this video and the gumball video. In both cases they doubled down on their positions and made the argument that the immigration shown in the video wasn't enough and more immigration was great for the GDP and for their pension funds because all these immigrants are going to become law abiding hard working Americans. One family member even said, 'we have plenty of open space; we could take in a billion!'

In fact, my liberal friends and family were offended that this Roy guy suggested closing the door of america to the innocent, huddled masses yearning to breathe free. From the perspective of my liberal friends the USA is a gift to the world and ALL humans are allowed to come here, get instant citizenship, and instant access to our welfare system and resources (in fact they support MORE welfare for illegals not less). They see zero difference between German immigration and Somali immigration. They see zero difference between Italian immigrants and Guatemalans. They see zero difference between the Irish and rural Chinese. (and if they do see a difference they seem terrified to express it). In fact now that I've shown these video many people in my family look at me suspiciously and have started asking probing questions every time I visit. Hey what do you think of the latest evil orange man action? You hate that nazi trump right? Hey what do you think about these new damning Russia gate 'facts'.

It's all so tiring.

That experience describes most of my interaction with my family as well don't get me wrong. My father got angry the other day when I said just mildly in Trump's defense that at least he hadn't started any wars and his response was 'He's declared a WAR ON SCIENCE!'. I know that sounds cliched but I'm not lying. However I have had some success with the Gumball video.

What do you mean?

I just mean for some reason which eludes me they didn't have that emotional reaction I know they usually have to nearly any argument against immigration which always, usually, strikes them as some form of xenophobia. Weirdly enough one of them actually told me about it before I'd showed it to them.

SS: A graphic demonstration of the problems caused by unrestrained immigration — a threat facing nearly all Western countries today.

The gumball man! He really reminds me of Hans Rosling, check out his videos.

Hans Rosling

Delusional neoliberal utopian who thought the world was only getting better. The opposite is true. Nothing is getting better.

There was a good review of Hans Rosling and his world view published in American Sun

American Sun:

So, let’s tackle this. It’s a lot to take in. It certainly does paint a positive picture of humanity. But I’m going to demolish this with one weird trick. I’m not a global citizen. That’s it. That’s all it takes. What do people in Tanzania have to do with me? What does their access to electricity, water, and vaccinations have to do with my standard of living or subjective well being? The starkest example I can give is this: Take all this data and statistics and bring them to a man in Rotherham or Telford England. Take it to any one of the numerous English cities where 19,000 English girls were systematically raped and sexually abused by Middle Easterner’s and Africans. Does any of this stuff matter? If you’re a father to any of these girls, no amount of Third World advancement matters. [Cont...]

These videos might have worked in the 80's and early 90's. Roy is counting on some subtle ethnocentric feeling among whites. Notice that Roy doesn't actually explain why these immigrants are bad. He's relying on implicit pro white sentiment among his audience (or at the very least a pro closed american markets sentiment). Neither of those things really exist among the majority of Americans today. Three generation of heavy anti white pro non white propaganda in our schools and media has conditioned whites to think that bringing in a million brown or asian folk is good but bringing in a billion will make us all rich and happy. I think it's the short sightedness of normie conservatives like Roy that has lost us this culture war.

Roy should have spent WAY more time developing rhetorical devices to teach whites WHY they should want to close their border. More effort needs to go into explaining to whites that they are unique and that only when high trust traditional white majorities reign will there be clean streets, healthy pensions, jobs, etc. You can't import the dirty uncivilized world to make your country more clean and civilized. It's a ridiculous idea. You can't bring rats into horse stable and expect more horses.

Non white immigration is an idea that only works for about 1% of the country that jet sets around the world and lives in compounds full of Jews and old money anglos and high income race traitor whites. For the 'compound' class immigration is good. Their compound gets bigger. They buy another yacht. They hire a few extra soldiers. They upgrade the CC security system. They can buy 3 hotdogs a month instead of one. They can pay off even more government officials. They get a Gulfstream G700 instead of that old beater G6. (G5's and 6's are for bustas).

One Billion Americans has recently become a meme. It's tiresome.

Sailer mentioned the book over at the Unz Review.

We badly need a non debt based economic system that isn't predicated on limitless growth. A far more interesting question to me would be: "what is the smallest population necessary to sustain a reasonable lifestyle within the U.S.?"

I saw that nut Beck nodding along with this imbecile about the 1 billion mark the other day. All to own the ChiComs of course.

There was a comprehensive smack down of Yglesias's book at VDare.

VDare:

... The real meaning of Yglesias’s book is not to create a strong America. It’s to displace the Historic American Nation altogether, replacing it with a continent-wide favela not worth fighting for, or even living in. This glorified shopping mall will be ruled by those who have no connection or loyalty to our country.

Yglesias might be content with such a dystopia. But we aren’t.
