SS: This footage is out by half a year (maybe I should be searching for and posting harvest festivals) but it was so charming I couldn't resist.

A procession of girls through an archway of raised arms. Presumably a May Queen. Most of the girls are dressed in white. The May Queen is crowned. C/U - her crown is made of flowers. Morris dancers on a village green. A strange game as men and women dressed as horseback riders (they have costumes which make it look as if they are on horseback) hit a ball around with sticks. A kind of polo I suppose! Country dancing and maypole dancing.

Enjoy and think what these people had been through— WWI had finished five years previously — and what they were going to experience during their lifetimes.

Now think of the life of a person in their 20s now. In all probability they will live to the end of this century and will experience an equally tumultuous social change, both personally and at the global level.

History is closed while the future is open ended. Britain will always exist.

Let's see what the rest of this century brings and courageously face the challenges ahead.
