It's always funny to me how mainstream media outlets like the BBC here sometimes will walk right up to the line of questioning a pillar of modernity, but not actually do it, and then act surprised when other people (e.g. us) go just one millimeter further. Case in point:

Largely, it's because in South Korea, women struggle to achieve a balance between work and other life demands.

I guess they knew how to win this struggle in the past, but then just forgot for some reason? Credit to the BBC, though, for naming the issue and not immediately leaping to man-blaming.

But faced with conditions that are not family friendly in South Korea, she is reconsidering her plans to have children.

Well, how did these conditions come about? The article never says...

She recently accepted a new job and had felt anxious about taking time off for maternity leave.

The first question must be "why is this woman working a job at all?"

She is also unconvinced by the incentives being offered by the government. "It's expensive to raise a child. The government providing an extra couple hundred thousand won won't solve our problems."

Not to mention that that money will have to come from somewhere. It's funny, though not surprising, that governments would rather mess around with money than actually take a hard look at root causes.

GDP growth.

BBC is globohomo propaganda, I'm surprised they even talk about fertility rate in general, note that they never talk about fertility rate in Britain or in europe, that seems to not be a problem to them.

Korea has gone from 13 million people in all of the country in 1910 to 50 million just in the south. South Korea only produces half the food the country needs and the whole country is just endless sprawl or mountains. There is almost no flat land that isn't occupied by humans. Asian megacities are some of the most dystopian places on Earth, it is just endless sprawl. South Korea very much needs a shrinking population.

That's the biggest problem with capitalism and one people like Keith Woods hit right on the head. Capitalism needs growth, be it in GDP or people. Shrinking population from highly dense nations like Japan or South Korea may seem like a good thing to most but to a capitalist it is hell on earth

Exactly, our populations need to naturally decline for the good of both the environment and society, yes it will cause economic hardship for a time and some suffering for our vulnerable but in the end it would be for the greater good. Convincing our people of this is the most difficult part.

Convincing our people of this is the most difficult part.

Our people's fertility rate is already below replacement level, we need numbers for survival, we and the asians are the only ones who are deacreasing in numbers while the rest is growing.

Send anime loving neckbeards to South Korea, the birth rate will explode to levels never seen since the Korean War.

Feminism leads to lower birth rates and answer is always more feminism. Stay classy, BBC.

Feminism and capitalism will kill a nation more effectively than a war. Remember, Germany lost 10% of its population in ww2, about 7.5 million people. But due to a generation of good birth rates, the population recovered.

Accounting for pre-anschulus borders, Germany had a population of a population of about 75 million. By, 1973, the two Gemanies together again had 75 million Germans. Yet, the sexual revolution began in the 60s and entrenched by the 70s. Neoliberal capitalism had its roots in the 70s and went into gear in the 80s.

Since, then Germany's birth rate has collapsed, and today there are only 65 million Germans in Germany, and even those are heavily geared towards old people. The German population has shrank by 9 million in peace time and that too despite the return of many Germans from the old Soviet bloc.

Thus, the demographic damage done to Germany by feminism and capitalism was more severe than a world war! Its the same story with Japan, Korea and China.

The only white country that maintained a strong birth rate well into the 90s and beyond was Ireland, and it was a borderline white sharia state.

Whenever people talk about birth rates, its an endless droning about jobs and maternity benefits....they forget that their ancestors in the 20s and 30s had 5-6 kids a piece and lived in small apartments working grueling manual labor in coal mines, farms and factories.

Its about female liberation and materialism. The modern woman does not want children. They want a fantasy life where a 6'2'' adonis who makes 200k a year keeps them in a penthouse and is devoted to her. They want to travel, get shares on IG and twitter and get told how wonderful she is.

Twitter clout and travelling to Dubai is more attractive than kids. Even right wing men lack the will to restrain them. Because enforcing sexual mores mean having fewer easy sluts to go around.

Ultimately, if civilization is to be saved, regimes must do one of two things:

  1. Implement full patriarchy and make women legally subordinate to their fathers and husbands. Plus, restrict higher education to men.

  2. Industrialize births. Create zygotes by combining the sperms and eggs of your finest genetic stock and implant them into surrogate wombs of African women. A thousand dollars would have them happily carry babies to term. The children after reaching a certain age can then be raised in state boarding schools

Why African women? Use Asian women. They worship us so much they would do it for free. They would even pay a thousand dollars for the chance of carrying and birthing a white baby. It's a dream come true for them. We should also keep them as concubines. They would absolutely love it. Think about it, it's a win for all parties involved. White women won't ruin their bodies because of a pregnancy and they won't have to lift a finger. Asian women get to carry and birth their beloved white gods and fulfil their endless desire for white cock. And we not only get white children, but white wives that stay beautiful and a harem of pretty Asian women. What's not to like? Seriously, I think lots of these Korean women would sign up for that.

0.84 fertility rate, will probably fall further next year due to covid. These are apocalyptic figures. I wouldn't be surprised if the west reaches this level in a couple of decades or so. On the plus side, this might facilitate a demographic takeover by traditionalists who will keep reproducing no matter what, but that can only happen if we can keep a totalitarian stalinist style future government from wiping us out, which is what is being envisoned by great reset fanatics, make no mistake.

Time for the neocons to "solve" the problem with mass immigration
