That's one thing I dislike about these "alternative" websites, they can end up going down at any time. I am not too attached to saidit as a platform, but it would be a pity to lose access to some of the posts here.

Not sure what to say about backups. I think that the point of backup subreddits back on Reddit was to allow a community to reorganise and go back to producing content and influencing the platform. I don't think these considerations even apply to saidit. If this place shut down, I'd just try to see if I can find the interesting posters again, but DAR as a sub is completely unrecognisable from its Reddit days. I appreciate the news links and the occasional discussion threads here, but the sub no longer serves any real purpose.

This is the real blackpill about this stuff, I haven't ever felt like I've lost a valuable post but losing track of cool guys' accounts and the ability to spread ideas to the large platform (20k+ uniques and 1 million pageviews monthly on DAR alone) really sucked. F for all the lost frens.

For sure, there have been dozens of interesting posters I have lost track of over the past few years. One of them got banned perhaps between seven and nine times before I could finally no longer find him. As to DAR as a whole, just like DebateFascism, it did not necessarily have the best direction, but DAR made up for it with its energy. Especially before the quarantine, there were a lot of posters and lurkers there. There was genuine political passion, interest and serious exploration of ideas both by proponents and by critics. It provided a good contrast with the otherwise completely depoliticised and demoralised environment that is generally promoted by liberalism. Of course, in retrospect it's also easy to see why that couldn't be allowed to last. For me, the most ridiculous and absurd aspect of all of this is seeing people get purged from a platform specifically because of their intelligent and insightful takes, at the same time as the most incoherent and idiotic segments of the user base are promoted and supported in "deplatforming" and propagandising.

Are there really no good venues available? Stormfront is fed ridden and the moderators are fucking lunatics. I try to put efforts in my posts but it's aged when I get two more or three responses.

forum.nobodyhasthe.biz is filled with ourguys

TRS has their paywall forum called BANG

There's stuff like axishistory, codoh etc that have forums but I don't know how good they are because I've only used them to look up specific things.

I don't think there's really any good forums nowadays, this place sucks, ruqqus sucks, 4chan is flooded with shills/jews/feds/retarded people.

I think the best thing we can do is just get on poa.st, twitter, and telegram (don't join telegram chats, it's just feds talking about committing crimes)

Twitter is a cess pool for many reasons. I am on it but not sure why. Original oh joined to follow Packers news, tried to keep politics more discrete but since George Floyd have been out more in the open then I should be.

I will check out the biz forum.

Stromfront is irredeemable. I was banned for critiquing Oprah normalizing porn to white housewives. Those people are not serious at all.

Twitter isn't bad. Just follow ourguys and don't look at the goyfeed stuff.

They deboost people. I also find it difficult to discuss anything intelligently in 256 characters.

I just use it as an RSS feed really.

Same. I never meant to say too much about this but George Floyd d and BLM wore down my filter. I am followed by two historic narrow gauge railroads I am very fond of and am waiting to lose them bc of who else I follow, edgy tweets and replies, etc.

One particularly unpleasant sportscaster had blocked me even though I have never interacted with him. So did Lindsay Ellis but she uses block lists, so am pretty sure Dan Needles saw my tweets or who I follow, or maybe it's becasue I said I hope Lance Easley dies (in a tweet he was not a party of). Wonder if it is because I follow right-winger DEVON STACK or Steven Mokyneux before he was banned. Never followed Jared Taylor or Nature and Race but I have a private "not followed publicly list" I use for those guys. Should probably take Dickie Spencer of they list bc I have lost all respect for him.

Poal.co is basically the only option that is actually similar to this place where we can keep a community and not just get assimilated into someone else's. It's where most people from Voat went when that shutdown.

[–]EthnocratArcheofuturist 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Do we have a poal.co sub?

[–]88BitSorelianism 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No I don't think we do.

I registered my username over there but I'm not at level 10 yet so I can't create a sub.

Finally. Ruqqus went really gay in the months before its fall.
