Historical examples of successes for remigration/repatriation?

Any examples anyone know of successful remigration/repatriation that's happened historically? Or partial successes? Eg maybe a population that was displaced by war or natural disaster that did actually go back home after things got better.

edit: also any that were peaceful and/or amicable?
