Is there any convincing argument that African-Americans have not overall benefited from slavery in the long run?

I believe slavery of innocent people is wrong. But the average African-American lives a much better life in America than the average Sub-Saharan.

It seems obvious. People seem to claim slavery underdeveloped Sub-Saharan Africa without any proof. I wonder is there is some leftist subreddit that will answer my question.

I always thought the American Colonization Society had the best overall solution for slavery.

I remember a comparison on the old sub. It's like a Human being sold to an Alien civilization that's 5000 years more advanced.

There's just no question that Africans were still stuck in the medieval ages, whereas Europeans had started making discoveries in gunpowder/electricity/cars etc.

We also have examples of Haiti, Liberia, Ethiopia where Black nations avoided slavery (or overthrew them) and they are among the poorest countries on Earth.

That's a rather generous, actually, the stone age is more apt for a vast majority of Africa.

Jungle natives like the San people or Pygmies, sure.

But there where Kingdoms around the coast like Songhai and Ethiopia who more developed.
