The whole shift to hydrogen is a complete farce. Largely because the "human caused" climate change is complete bullshit in the first place. Add to it that hydrogen is very hard to contain and extremely explosive. Far more explosive than gasoline.

Imagine a Ford Pinto exploding but causing an area the size of 3 mile island to become uninhabitable.

This is an interesting conundrum. However, there's some wording in the article that says "if a certain amount of hydrogen plus methane escapes, you might as well burn fossil fuels". I found that interesting, so I decided to poke around a bit more into the funders of the institute that wrote the paper. From an article entitled How much is Princeton’s contract with Exxon worth? Why does it matter?:

In July of 2020, Princeton renewed a contract with ExxonMobil. A press release by the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment did not disclose how much the contract was worth. The former contract of 2015 was worth $5 million — $1 million per year for 5 years.
