From the grief/trauma sub-genre. It's gotten poor reviews, supposedly due to poor acting, "plot already been done" etc. I found it quite well made. A decent scare on a Monday night. For more, google "From Black" and check out one of the many reviews. Or, read my shitty synopsis:
A former heroin addict, seven years after the disappearance of her son, is contacted by the leader of her grief group and told that she can bring her son back from the dead. Together, they follow a series of incantations and rites, are visited by a demon, and things get out of control.
What I liked: the mood, the music, the cinematography...
What I didn't like: The ending could have been a ~bit~ more on point. I felt it ended rather abruptly, and without a a proper amount of "wow"...
Edit: forgot to mention - if you saw A Dark Song, you will notice obvious elements in similar.
Edit 2: audience, people who have been around the horror genre, it has some disturbing sequences dealing with the occult, and possession, not everyone's cup of tea. For me though, it works. I recommend it.
