Stanford study: Covid-19 far more infectious, far less fatal than reported. Could this explain the testing "difficulties"?

Does this mean 2,535 Americans did not die of this virus yesterday?

I think the phrase may be "die with" rather than "die from".

On more careful reading of this study, it has methodological flaws. i.e. self-selection bias among respondents. That's not to say it's conclusion is necessarily incorrect, but this study is not statistically valid.
