I am facing a dilemma. I want to invest on margin and I am debating whether I should use Interactive Broker. On one hand Interactive Broker is the cheapest website for investing on margin, charging 2.5% interest when other websites charge 8% or more. On the other, Interactive Broker has a horrible, almost unusable nightmare of an interface. First, it auto logs out every few seconds. And if I want to log in, I need to have it send a verification code to my phone. Every single time. This is especially bad for me because I don't have unlimited texting. The only way to avoid going broke from all the texts was to download the app and have it send the code to the app instead, but the app is buggy, crashes for no reason, and forces you to use fingerprint which almost never works for me because I have perpetually sweaty hands.
This is the biggest problem for me, but I can write pages and pages about annoying behaviors I hate about their website. Anyway, is it worth the interest rates to put up with a horrible web interface? I feel like I am selling my soul by submitting to their stupid ways. I am also worried that their website will become unusable to the point that I won't be able to withdraw money.
