You can join our Old Testament readings to learn more about the Old Testament.

Where can I get that? Is it on a forum?

I like the new testament because it says that Satan is the ruler of this world. That seems to be true. How can anyone defeat this satanic world? It's not possible. The only way out is to follow God and Jesus. Somehow, this seems logical. The world is so overwhelmingly Satanic, and the new testament understands this.

Yeah, the same world God physically created he got ceded to Satan somehow.

Yes such happenings are inevitable if God allows His creations any agency.

So is God not able or willing to take it and it's inhabitants back from Satan, rather than judging it by fire or extinction-level catastrophe?

He is able, but it is not part of the plan. Lets take an analogy. Say you were in charge of a bunch of kids and they were messing up the house. You would want to induce them to not be messy. Inevitably some will be induced faster than others and will have to suffer from the messiness of those others. Now, you are ultimately in control of how messy the house is and could just clean it yourself or beat the crap out of the kids when they didn't clean it any time you wanted, but that wouldn't accomplish your goal of getting the kids to be tidy of their own volition. It is like this with Satan currently occupying the world.

The Old Teastament is older and therefore has had more time to be altered by humans. Although even the New Testament has changes everywhere.

I'm not religious, so don't take this the wrong way, but to me in the literal sense it seems like:

Christianity - New Testament = Judaism

The Jewish holy book is the Talmud, not the Old Testament.

"The Old Testament (often abbreviated OT) is the first division of the Christian biblical canon, which is based primarily upon the 24 books of the Hebrew Bible or Tanakh"

"Christians traditionally divide the Old Testament into four sections: the first five books or Pentateuch (corresponds to the Jewish Torah);"

Yes, your point being?

[–]Antarchomachus 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

That the entire Old Testament is entirely just Jewish scripture.

Which brings me back to my original point

Christianity - New Testament = Old Testament = Entirely Jewish Scripture = Judaism

No, because the holy book of Judaism is the Talmud.
