My nightmare last night

I had a nightmare last night that the backspace/delete key had fallen out of fashion and was considered regressive, so it was removed from all virtual keyboards (phones and tablets). I was in some waiting room and I had to contact someone with my smartphone. But I had to type in some long name and I would always make some mistake. Without the backspace/delete key, I had to reload the page and start over. I was getting annoyed and started to complain about this, and everyone thought I was crazy for wanting a backspace/delete key. So I asked other people to type in the long name for me, but of course they refused to help. Then I woke up.

Reading and writing is always hopeless in dreams.

In fact some people use it to trigger themselves into lucid dreaming.

Fucking modern scum removing the backspace key. This dream would have made me shit my pants.

I could see this really happening at some point. Android phones already removed the "undo" feature. And deleting the backspace key is something that would be easy to justify using the sophistry tactics programmer scum already use. If anything the user did at all contributes to the problem in the smallest way, programmer will jump on it and blame the user.

Imagine you make a ticket on their online system saying there is no backspace key. They ask you what you need the backspace key for. And then after you say it is because you want to correct a typo, they close the ticket because you admitted the problem was due to user error and not due to their software.
