It's a waste of time. They use call spoofing to fake numbers. There's a reason why 90% of the time they have a number similar to yours.

Robo-calls are indeed annoying. However, setting up a service to report them will be a waste of taxpayers' money.

Nice try, but we all know that won't happen. Telecom makes a lot of money from these calls and they won't brook any interference. Populist move, though - but I thought populism was just for stupid people?

There's also the possibility this simple service could be abused to mess with innocent businesses.

The FCC would have to pressure my cell provider into not allowing this shenanigans. I'm convinced the cell providers are making $ and that's why it "can't be stopped". Some carrier should advertise a "spam free network".

I use Nomorobo. It's free for landlines. It basically knows what numbers are robocalls and will block them. The phone rings once and that's it. It doesn't stop spoofed numbers though, but I still recommended it.
