Tim Pool is the closest there is to impartial journalism. I am also former left person who is highly likely to vote for Trump this year. Over the last four years I went from being left to solid center because of the craziness of the left. I will rarely admit this to people irl because I'm in a blue state surrounded by SJWs. But I know the number of people like me is growing.

I am another one, also in a relatively blue state surrounded by SJWs (although I at least blocked most of them from my social media accounts at this point). I'm done with how much the left wants to turn the country over to complete authoritarianism. The left pretends it respects the underdog and the underprivileged person, but I've had nothing but them screaming at me over dumb shit like masks when I followed the mandate to begin with and never said I wasn't wearing one in public places. And for them to riot and to further destroy the economy all in the name of a black man who was a career criminal is so completely morally wrong that I'm just totally over them.

Yes exactly. Also they are doing a lot of this in states that have been blue for a very long time. Joe Biden has already been in a high position of power. Voting blue clearly has not achieved anything. Dems are also joining and supporting these protests. How can you be against the establishment when you are the establishment? It just makes no sense..

I think maybe "honest" would be a better term to use. Tim doesn't hide his biases or agenda, and no matter how honest you are, that will always affect what you're interested in reporting and talking about. And I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

Not trying to discourage you from voting for Trump (it's a good thing to keep Biden out of office), but if this was your transition, you may benefit from learning about libertarian ideologies. Not necessarily anarchist or ancap, just the general libertarian ideologies, like the non-aggression principal and the idea that government has no right to tell an adult what they can do with themselves. And also that crimes that don't have a human victim (gun/drug possession, for instance) are inherently violent and unethical. There is much more to it, but I think you would appreciate it.

[–]medium_tomato 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

I have definitely looked into libertarian thinking maybe it would be a good third party but after reading what they are for I just can't support that either. I respect what they believe in, and agree on a number of points, but I just don't think that libertarian ideology and policies would improve society. I think government does have an important role to play, just not the role that current liberals think it should.

Do it. Go Green or Libertarian. Protest vote. It's all rigged anyway. There are over 40 ways to rig the vote and they're actively controlling all of them.

[–]72ndGender 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Fair enough. It's not for everyone. If you don't mind talking a bit about, what were some of the major issues you had with libertarianism? You mentioned the role of government being necessary, but was your impression that all libertarians want to completely eradicate the government? Like anarchists. There are definitely different sub groups under the libertarian umbrella, but I think the most common are the constitutionalist (myself included) that just want the government's role to be reduced back to their constitutional authority. Nothing more, and nothing less.

As someone who has always had Libertarian tendencies, how do you distinguish Trump from a Libertarian? I personally feel that he is easily our most libertarian President since before Roosevelt, probably since before the formation of the federal reserve.

I’d love nothing more than to have this whole current communist movement (as far as I’m concerned, that’s what everything going on right now is) blow up in the left’s face without doing too damage to America so that we get some real Left-Libertarianism in this country.

[–]72ndGender 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

That would be amazing if it happened, but it would take a lot of coordinated effort. And you're right, it's pure commie propaganda coming out of the left right now.

As far as Trump being a libertarian, my main argument against that is he supported red flag laws and bump stock bans, and he didn't do anything to remove the endless unconstitutional 2A restrictions that fed, state and local governments have enacted. He should be working on a bill right now to put an end to 2A restrictions.

He supported the enormous spending bills during this covid situation, which costs our taxpayers trillions. He has increased spending overall, as well.

He also has not deregulated drugs, which would be pretty crucial. He should end the war on drugs and the war on pain patients. I appreciate him attempting to deregulate some parts of the healthcare system, like with experimental treatments for terminal patients. That's a plus.

And he supports enormous Israel welfare programs, BUT at least he is actively working on getting us out of paying for garbage like the WHO and UN. He needs to cut Israel off though.

I agree he is the most libertarian president in modern times, which is why I encourage people to vote for him. Especially over Biden. But I wouldn't call him an actual libertarian.

Fair and agreed on all points. Call me naive but I'm looking forward to a lame duck second term.

Haha, same

Anyone who considers Tim Pool impartial has gone off the deep end.... Or is painfully ignorant.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

he seems impartial in terms of the overton window is kind of in crazy clown and now so he seems to conservative but really he is reasonable

[–]Captzapheart 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Talking politics with Americans is confusing, they'll seem obsessed with redifining the meaning of well established century old political terminology.

[–][deleted] 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (8 children)

I can't believe that any concerned America voter would intentionally vote for a man that did not speak out against the anarchists attacks in various large cities. The Democrat mayors are a huge problem for freedom. Biden will simply let it all happen. He's only out to get his name in the hsitory books. He does not want a free America. I don't like Trumps personality. But, it's a small price to pay to avoid the Democrat led downfall of America.

[–]TruthTeller 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

No dude! Listen to Tim Pool. Liberals are DEFECTING to Trump! Tim Pool is the only journalist left. He selectively reads pointless Tweets all day to do his "reporting." You are missing the whole Liberal train leaving the station to go vote for the dumb, ignorant, racist motherfucker named Donald Trump.

[–]beermeem 1 insightful - 3 fun1 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Honestly, I can’t stand Tim Pool.

And?

[–]beermeem 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

I’m genuinely confused about Biden. I don’t think he “wants” anything. Personally, I actually supported/voted for (I’m counting who I picked when we’d hold mock elections in school as civics lessons) Joe Biden in 1984, 1988, 1992, and 2004. I think he’s just a party automaton doing what he thinks he’s been trained to think he should do.

Well, that and all the money he’s making in Ukraine.

[–]galaxybrain 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

The only thing Biden wants is to grope little girls.

He really doesn't know what he's doing, the Democrats are just using him as a puppet, as you say

[–]beermeem 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

He's basically Bob Dole. I sacrificial old school party favorite up against sitting President.

"Tim Pool is the closest there is to impartial journalism. "

I will be laughing all week about that one!

Why aren't you on Reddit with your communist friends? Why are you here bothering us on Saidit?

[–]TruthTeller 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain you don't know what communism is.

you got a problem with Tim you got a problem with me libtard

[–]TruthTeller 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

That about says it all about Tim and his followers.

[–]medium_tomato 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

Okay, so who and what publication would you say is actually trying to be impartial these days? I am always looking for news with the least twist and so far Tim Pool seems to be ahead.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Why is everyone just completely unaware of financial news? Any publication that tells you the raw money and corporate action is under the barrel of a gun to be accurate- misreporting will cause lawsuits because it isn't written for reality TV addicted retail workers.

"I am always looking for news with the least twist and so far Tim Pool seems to be ahead."

You just bought me another day or so of laughter.

[–]medium_tomato 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Okay and what are you contributing in terms of more balanced news?

[–]TruthTeller 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Not Tim Pool, that's for sure.

[–]NaughtyUnicorn 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I use to be in the center, I voted left the past few years, but I have moved to the hard right ever since Covid and these riots have broke out. Check out the #WalkAway Campaign. Lot's of liberals are leaving. The Left is too crazy for anyone who doesn't want to be a part of a radical cult.

[–][deleted] 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Is it really considered hard right if you are against nationwide looting. I guess it is.

[–]TruthTeller 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Lot's of liberals are leaving.

Sure. Whatever you say. Trump has given them so many good reasons to do so.

[–]monkeytitz 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

walkaway is hardly mainstream, if it could even be half as trending as BLM, it would be significant but until then, biden as pres is not unlikely

[–]O_malakas 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Tim Pool is a quality journalist because he reads cherrypicked twitter anecdotes.

This is what rightoids actually believe.

[–]SeasideLimbs 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

What a sad leftist you are. 😢

[–]medium_tomato 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

He isn't even on the right.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The democratic party courted centrists for years, the middle, the neoliberals, conservadems etc. Now why wouldn't they vote for trump, democrats nowadays support some crazy things like transgenders, illegal immigrants, looters, metoo. This election will be a bloodbath. They try to paint Trump as being extreme but really his policies are centrist and he hasn't made any radical changes.

[–]FediNetizen 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Literally every election you're going to find people that for one reason or another decide to switch party affiliation. That it is happening once again is unexceptional. That being said, these individuals aren't indicative of a general trend, in fact the general trend is heading the opposite direction.

Biden's lead in the polls has gotten wider over the past 2 months and his current lead is almost 9 points, a lead that is more than twice as large as the one Clinton had over Trump in 2016 (4 points at this point in the race, 3.8 points on election night). With that smaller lead, she ended up win the popular vote by just under 3 million, but losing the election. If Biden carries that much larger lead into the election (which admittedly is an unknown) then he's going to end up winning handily.

[–]PeeAyH 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I really doubt the polls can be fully trusted. I might be wrong, but there would be a huge amount of silent Trump voters, far more than the previous election. People are genuinely terrified to voice any level of support for Trump publically.
