I'm surprised a .22 is able to do that much damage. Figured it would just pass right through flesh.

oops I stand corrected.

The Israelis are huge fans of .22s and they've got a reputation for assassinations. Or maybe that was a fictional account I read. Oh well, like my good friend Mark Twain said, never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

They use .22 shorts which have a velocity of around 750 FPS. They are used at point blank range and make very little noise. They probably use a silence on top of that but maybe not. I've used the round for squirrel clearing because it wont scare off other squirrels above ground.

Not gonna lie, the black power salute with his arm in a sling made me giggle... "Exercised my right to peacefully protest... with muh gun. Didn't fire muh gun that night... because my arm got rekt before I fucken got a chance to! Was there to provide medical services to protesters but I wanted to make muh gun go pop pop too. Can't say why I chased a guy who was carrying a rifle 'cos my lawyer sez no. This paramedic cap is the only one I have." Poor baby will have to learn to beat off with his left hand now...

Gaige Grosskreutz, the 22-year-old Kenosha rioter who had his arm partially blown off by Kyle Rittenhouse after he aggressively peacefully rushed at the 17-year-old and pointed a pistol at the child’s head, cried victim on CNN.

Geez guys- gotta watch that narrative... and now he's even 25% more peaceful than before!

If that man doesn't do drugs, then he needs to get some sleep.

He's probably under constant pain meds. That kind of injury will keep on giving for a while.

[–][deleted] 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

I hope he's on pain meds. This current opiate "crisis" -- which btw is bullshit, the CDC lumped street drugs contaminated with Chinese fentanyl in with prescription drug deaths in order to perpetuate that particular false narrative -- has resulted in almost unimaginable suffering.

I recently had two oral surgeries with less pain medication than you can buy OTC in any other country besides the US, and I've heard people going through major surgery with nothing more than tylenol for the pain.

This is a really, really, really, really bad time to get hurt or to have surgery.

That's a real conspiracy for y'all right there. There are people with chronic pain conditions who are pretending to be heroin addicts to get suboxone. If you're a junkie you get the meds pretty easily, if you're in pain you gotta jump through hoops and pay out the nose if you get anything at all.

That kind of injury will keep on giving for a while.

I wouldn't be surprised if he never fully recovers and has lifelong pain. But he's young so he has a chance, but I wouldn't put money on it.

It's a typical war injury. Tens of millions young men were wounded in similar ways in WW2. I always wondered how this affected their remaining lives.

I have heard of people in hospice care being denied opiates. This is bad time in history to have severe pain. I don't see any signs of this trend reversing itself anytime soon.

[–]EuropeanAwakening 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

First of all, its OPIOID crisis. Fantasy and heroin, which is often cut with fentanyl, are both opioids. Oxymoron, hydroxycodone, and other pain medications are also opioid pain medications. Tens of thousands of people are dying from opioid overdose every year in this country due to Jewish owned pharmaceutical companies.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Potato potato.

It's not prescription opiates, pharmacies, or Jews that are the problem, nearly 85% of overdose deaths involved illicitly manufactured fentanyls, heroin, cocaine, or methamphetamine (alone or in combination)

Fentanyl and its analogues are the most dangerous ones and those are made in China. Counterfeit pills killed Tom Petty and Prince, and China deserves the blame. They're just going after pharmaceutical companies for a cash grab and they don't care how many people get hurt in the process.

That must be it. I can spot that drug-addict face from a mile away--not that he is an addict. I hope he recovers as much as possible.

Snopes hasn't been reliable source in over a decade.

Take this exert for example:

"According to cellphone footage, a group of people followed Rittenhouse, yelling “Beat him up!” and “Hey, he shot him!” The teenager continued running, tripped, and then fell to the ground — from where he fired four shots.

Per the complaint, several people rushed toward the teen and hit him or tried to disarm him while he was lying on the ground. Among that group was Rittenhouse’s second victim, Huber, who had apparently hit Rittenhouse with a skateboard during the scuffle. Then, the complaint stated:"

This makes it appear as though the shooting took place before the alleged 'disarming'. And by disarming they apparently mean, multiple attempt to strike him in the head with a skate board. Or to frame it in a legal context, use of deadly force. Not that this matters since any attempt to take a weapon away from someone can be met with deadly force, since the victim can rightly assume that his own gun will be turned on him.

In addition, the term shooting victim should be used, and not "Rittenhouse’s victim" As this implies guilt. Not that snopes cares, or at least they don't seem to care about facts.

I encourage everyone to watch the video of the instance and to judge it for themselves. And in case you are worried that you are going to see something you can not unsee. It is not very graphic, you will be able to understand the events, fairly easily without being overtly disturbed.

Is a skateboard used in that manner considered a lethal weapon legally?

[–][deleted] 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's felony battery and assault with a deadly weapon, no question.

[–]Feldheld 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Skateboard guy also grabbed his gun. Legally this makes him an armed attacker.

[–]alkhd 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That does not make it appear the shooting took place before the alleged disarming.

The next sentence literally says:

The defendant then fires one round … Huber staggers away, taking several steps, then collapses to the ground.

Its obvious this is one of the four shots because it says this happened while he was lying on the ground:

tried to disarm him while he was lying on the ground.

Kyle crossed state lines just for an opportunity to use that weapon on people. Well he got what he wanted, now it's time to pay the price.

No.

Rittenhouse goes to work in Kenosha as a lifeguard. He was working there that day, cleaned graffiti off a school and after work a friend asked him and a couple of friends to defend his last unburned business.

He went into the riot area with medical gear, and was acting as a first aider (this can be seen on videos).

He put out a fire the rioters were trying to set, and that really pissed them off. Later on they recognised him after he got separated from his group and attacked him, leading to him shooting one of them in self defence after which he sprinted off to find the police (visible on video).

The idiot felons trying to beat him up/kill him then bring him down from behind as part of a mob and got shot.

Absolutely a case of self defence on Rittenhouses part.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Attack? Oh you mean getting into verbal altercation. If he didn't have a gun nothing would have happened. Now some 17 year old larper, got a dose of adrenaline and killed bunch of people, cause he can't think straight. Not a self defense, when he is the one escalating, that's why he is in a cell right now.

[–]GConly 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Attack? Oh you mean getting into verbal altercation.

Let's believe the felon armed with a gun when he says that was all that happened.

No need to believe. We have video footage of it.

The new thing with crt is that storytelling is one of the main stated tactic.
