As Americans, as people, especially if you believe in the Christian values that you espouse, you’re supposed to do unto others and help others. So I do that as much as I can. I don’t like it, but I don’t mind it in a way because I am blessed and fortunate enough to be in this position to make this amount of money where I have the privilege. I have the privilege to be able to do that. No one likes to pay a lot of taxes, but we do it because we can, and not everybody can.

Bullshit. Stealing from people and fighting endless wars that have killed millions of men, women and children is not helping others. Spending billions on weapons that are being used at home and abroad, supporting the military industrial complex is not helping others. Paying people more in unemployment than they could make working a job, subsidizing unemployment and keeping people out of the workforce is not helping people. Giving trillions to banks and corporations that made risky investments instead of allowing them to suffer the consequences of their actions like any other investor in a free market is not helping the people.

You want to help people, give to charity. Don't steal our money and act like we're selfish for resenting it.

There’s nothing stopping Lemon from donating his money to reduce the national debt. There’s even a handy website to explain how this works. See https://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/pd/gift/gift.htm

He can also overpay his taxes if he wishes.

Will the need for labor/new stuff never end? Or will new technology provide for everyone without them having to work?
