Hopefully like all Current Thing fads, this one will die as soon as enough normal people realize it's ongoing. Spread the word IRL!

I hope normies won't get rid now of their gas stoves.

This seems a questionable and weakly based conclusion...

For starters, this push is not at all a new one; instead it's decades old, from many sources and a variety of reasons, like health concerns.

What we know for sure:

About one month before the follow-the-crowd hipster Democrats learned of the new virtue signaling topic and pushed for expedited rule-making...

The concern was first raised on a October 26, 2022 CPSC meeting by Biden-nominated Commissioner of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Richard L. Trumka Jr, who had that role for about year. Yet, he wasn't alone in voicing this concern that day, but was clearly the most pushy.

See my post from yesterday for sources, links, and details.

Personally, I think regulations requiring a vent hood with actual ventilation, for gas stoves, would be a reasonable regulation, especially for apartment landlords. Also requiring them to be manufactured less gas-leaky would be great. It is an issue I've personally dealt with a few too many times.

My interpretation of this ban has been the idea that since the Nord Stream 2 pipline was to supply a good portion of Europe with natural gas from Russia through Ukraine, and NS2 along with the Nord Stream 1 pipeline were rocked with explosions (sabotage) just like Biden promised, the US will now be able to sell that gas to UK and much of Europe instead of Russia. Of course doing so would mean a lot less natural gas would be available in the US, so a ban on gas stoves would reduce the need for that gas. If there was a ban on gas stoves, most Americans might barely notice that there wasn't any gas left because it was all sold to Europe, and probably wouldn't revolt as much.

Definitely seems like something the WEF would recommend. Right up their alley as a matter of fact.
