That's a really good point, that they have to pretend they were right all along or otherwise what was the point of all this?

To be honest, I'd be willing to forgive if they had admitted they were wrong, because none of us really knew how bad it would be at first. Immediately after the start of the pandemic, someone I knew and respected died of the virus. Lots of people thought we were dealing with something really lethal.

Then we learned more and now we know it's serious but not the end of the world, but they can't deal with that...
