Defango finished his drive out to the Observatory, did interviews and was even invited to look around the entire building, including the office of the scientist who vanished and did an interview with a local news agency. The wrap-up video is here.
Word is there was a stolen multi-million dollar electron microscope and assorted expensive equipment and THAT is what the FBI presence was about. None of the staff at the observatory said they saw or heard a helicopter.
Howver, a cursory investigation of the individual who "just left" - one Richard Altrock, has some interesting results.
He is apparently a civilian Airforce contractor, studying coronal ejections from the sun. Here is a 2014 pdf report he made for the airforce, regarding:
- ABSTRACT
The Prominence Magnetometer (ProMag) is a dual-channel, dual-b
eam spectro-polarimeter designed by the High Altitude Observatory at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (HAO/NCAR) for the study of the magnetism of solar prominences and filaments with the ultimate goal of predicting prominence activation and eruptions. It was deployed in August 2009 at the 40
-cm coronagraph of the Evans Solar Facility (ESF) of the National Solar Observatory on Sacramento Peak (NSO/SP).
Predicting solar eruptions.
Another article that pops up with this guys name, is this, rather frightening prospect.
Richard Altrock, a civilian Air Force research scientist at the National Solar Observatory's Sacramento Peak Observatory, spoke next. He has long observed the solar corona, the Sun's extremely hot outermost atmosphere, which is shaped by magnetic-field loops rooted in the Sun's interior.
In the previous three solar cycles, the corona at high latitudes has performed what Altrock calls a "rush to the poles" when each new jet stream has begun forming deep below it. But this time, the event failed to occur.
The sun may stop producing sunspots around 2020... and whether the cycle will restart is unknown.
All of this brings a SLIGHT amount of credence to the possibility of that whistleblower talking about "Smack Hammer and Haarp".
