You can run Windows 98 in DOSBOX: https://www.dosbox-x.com/ https://archive.org/details/windows-98-in-dosbox- https://dosbox-x.com/wiki/Guide%3AInstalling-Windows-98

Use a $150 Windows 11 Home Laptop and save $50 from a cheapie broken-ass laptop.

I prefer PCEMV17 which I use on my DESKTOP to emulate a Socket 7 bios with Win98SE and Voodoo3. So my question lies what would be a good laptop comparision that can run at least the mid to higher Pentium 1 MMX ranges for PCEM without dropping below 95 percent on a 98SE build with Voodoo 3? Bonus points if I can run Win ME/2000 without too much stutter. The reason I said MMX is because I know it will be neigh impossible to emulate PII on a laptop without spending serious $$$ for a good single threaded CPU. (PCME doesn't do multithreading)

My main Desktop is an I7th 8th core at 4.3 and I can emulate nicely up to the lower P2's before having stuttering issues (mostly clicking around in Windows98 but playing most games balances it back) so what would a good Win 10 home laptop be that can run Penxium MMX?

Right now if you want anything retro they ain't cheap. A decent WinXP/98 build on Ebay either Desktop or Laptop will cost you MINIMUM 300$ or you get conditions like 'Bad CMOS' or no AC adaptor or various problems usually parts only. I mean who are they kidding. Nobody will pay the price of 'new'. This isn't like selling a new game console or anything they think it's like they are selling the Xbox Series X counterpart for Windows XP.
