I just woke up, so bear with me on the cohesion of this.
Watching the pursued find a cellphone in a slasher/horror flick gives me a tiny fraction of hope for them. It ends up poorly in every situation: the fucking thing doesn't have service, the battery is nearly dead, etc..
What I would like to know, in this early hour of the morning, is WHY with all of these movies (some of which even based on true events) that mobile services insist on having flashy, bright screens that make potentially the loudest god-forsaken noise ever upon turning them on?
This is something that could mean escape, whether reality or otherwise. Obviously the concept of escape is fucked as soon as the killers/rapists/whoever hears it. Why wouldn't mobile phone companies take this (no matter how far-fetched) into consideration?
