I'm not saying this is the case, here, but it is still cheaper to ship good raw material to china, have them run the manufacture process, then ship it around the place. I have done a lot of business with china and its not as uncommon as one would think. On the other hand, enjoy your anodised aluminum.

Yep, that's monkey metal and may melt the first time you use it. Better use it as a planter for flowers,

Never been a fan of plain steel cookwear. Everything sticks, and it feels like industrial pots and pans from a 2 star hotel breakfast service.

There are brands that were considered quality American brands and now have moved their production elsewhere, even in Pakistan or Bangladesh. I don't think you can find many genuine American products these days.

"Made in America" can mean assembled in America with foreign parts. Chinese companies were using NAFTA to avoid tariffs by shipping product to Mexico and then putting them in boxes that said, "Made in Mexico" before sending them onto the U.S.

I think we have it all wrong with "only buy American" because it is near impossible. Rather, we should just focus on slowly tipping the scales in favor of American made products by researching an paying a bit more. Also, there's a psychological problem associated with perfectionism, and it's far better to do a little bit of effort each day and not be upset with imperfect results. By tipping the scales and not being upset with still buying CCP products, we will eventually get things changed.

I love my lodge skillet, even if it occasionally poisons me with iron :)
