This is a list of distraction narratives that are commonly seen online and in TV media, often used to shut down and derail any real discussion. These are narratives that I believe are promoted mainly to distract from anything of importance from being discussed:

  • Flat earth (or donut earth, etc)

  • Michelle Obama is a man, Obama is gay

  • Pro or anti transgender content

  • Covid doesn't exist

  • Viruses don't exist and don't spread disease

  • Aliens are here and the government has their technology so you should be scared

  • Man-made climate change, and how you need to change your personal behavior to fix it

  • BLM, Jan6, Trump indictment

  • Literally anything in politics, unless someone get elected or goes to jail (which never happens)

  • Anything to do with movies, Barbie, Oppenheimer, etc.

  • Sports or any of the related "controversies" around sports

  • Anything a hollywood actor does or says

None of these things matter, at all. Zero percent. But they're pushed in our face constantly by the media, including online social media like reddit. Sure they can be "fun" to consider, and I'm not saying to never talk about these things. But the reality is when you dig down, they're nonsense topics and this becomes clear quite quickly. They distract from meaningful discussion, and this is often intentionally leveraged by shills. The sooner we stop taking these subjects seriously and move on to actual important discussions, the closer humanity is to improving.

We as a species need to learn to ignore that which deserves to be ignored.

We are literally being soft genocided with bioterrorism, and people are squabbling about how some stupid actor cut their junk off. Who gives a flying fuck. Keep your eye on the ball. Have some priorities. It's the only way we can grow past this. Don't let the psyops derail discussions, and don't let them derail human culture. My niece dated a trans identified girl for a couple years and her best friend identifies as trans. This is not an esoteric issue just happening to other people. Entire friend groups have been known to troon out together. I worried my niece would. I don't oppose it because Right Wing News tells me to, or because I hate these people, or because I enjoy doing it, but because there are real people's lives at stake here over something so stupid and basic and immutable as gender. Transgenderism is a cult-like ideology that sucks people in and fucks up their lives. We need people opposing it, fighting the good fight, even though it gets old af to hear about it everyday.

100% agreed with you, the transgender issue has and continues to affect my life personally. I had to cancel my plans for marriage with the girl I loved because she went down the rabbit hole and got surgery/hormone shots. My roommate right now is teetering on the edge of becoming trans and I feel Im the only one in her life that can help her.

And I feel like the tide is turning but now the new thing is the "reasonable trans," and even some 'terfs' with large audiences on Twitter are quickly jumping to this idea they're not all porn sick AGPs. It's a goddamned Trojan horse, and what the TRAs should have led with, but they aren't going down without a fight.

On the plus side, I think people are getting burned out hearing about this shit in any context and it'll poison the TRA well no matter tactic they take.

I have told you this 1,000 times. The "reasonable trans" have existed FOREVER. They're not new, they long-predate this TRA crap and most of them hate it, and TRAs hate them and consider them transphobic.

I'm sick of everyone, especially Christians who are supposed to be the compassionate ones, assuming others' mental struggles aren't "real" just because they can't see them. If someone is literally going to fucking kill themselves because of something, it's serious. I know it's not exactly comforting to acknowledge such suffering, but denying its existence will not make it go away.

I'm not saying that's not a serious issue, but if the birth control hormones (and other meds) contaminating the water supply were responsible for transgenderism I'd expect the mtfs to come off as women when they write online and the ftms to seem male, but they don't. They don't have an 'oppositely gendered brain,' at least not commonly. I personally think the origin of all of this is rich perverts like Jennifer Pritzker dumping a lot of money into influencing society to ultimately normalize their kinks. People are remarkably tractable.

One should expect a plethora of negative effects from persistent endocrine disrupting exposure, not simply changed gender mentality. Things like violent outbursts, uncontrollable emotional states, lack of energy, lack of concentration, increased propensity of sexual assaults, increased risks of cancers, increased risks of many varying health problems like diabetes, thyroid issues, and many diseases...unstable emotion driven personality changes, weakened immune system, etc etc...

Since we are literally swimming in this stuff, it is changing society as a whole. Micro plastics are everywhere, in everything. Chemicals from plastics leaching from our food packaging, preparation containers, and utensils. There are even more, other, endocrine disruptive chemicals, in addition to BPAs, which are in our plastics, our food, our drinks, our water, our toiletries. We have even more in our laundry detergent, dish soaps, deodorant, shampoos, toothpastes. Then others are leaching to our bodies from electronics. Several kinds are infecting us from from our clothing, and from our furniture....this is addition to endocrine disrupting fire retardants that can still be found in everything. Carpeting is a source of breathing all these in dust.

It is just all around us, unavoidable, and affecting every aspect of our lives, our health, and our mental functioning. We are quite fucked.

There's not really such thing as a gendered brain. Trans brains mostly seem to have issues with body mapping, and other supposed sex differences are either entirely the result of post-pubescent hormones or based on biased studies with tiny sample sizes.

If someone grew up as one gender, they're going to act more typical of that one in many ways. It's learned behavior.

Your assumption that gender is a social construct is wrong. I've helped raise a lot of kids at this point. Boys act like boys and girls like girls (more or less) and you don't have to teach them gender anymore than you teach a boy cat to act like a boy cat. It's just nature.

It used to be considered incredibly uncool to use the internet, computers were not widely available to the general public, internet access was expensive (charged by the minute!), and it was a bit technical. But even today, the % of women in online spaces can be low depending on where you are, and women seem more likely to lurk. Some places are chock full of women, some are still practically devoid.
