Turns out my youtube comments are shadowbanned, and I didn't know it for a year...

I don't comment all that much on youtube, mostly because I don't get any upvotes. Today I was wondering why, and so I commented on a video with like 10 comments, and my comment wasn't visible there when I opened a private browsing window (which logs you out).

Probably because of some comment I made about the mRNA shots. I generally make pretty emotionally tame comments.

So every youtube comment I've ever made has been shadowbanned. I've been talking to myself without realizing it. Hard to feel like it's not 1984

There's no shadowbanning. 3/4 of everything I ever post never gets above 1 upvote, mine.

Shadow-banning was obvious when I tried looking for the raw footage I'd already seen, after watching heavily narrated / edited and front page promoted videos claiming 'see: no resisting arrest'. (Google / Youtube were partly responsible for the civil unrest / riots.)

I often upvote your stuff although I rarely contribute to it. I just don't have anything to say on overthrowing the 1%. I'm content if us peons just don't get subjugated too hard.

Although sometimes posts just get overlooked sadly.

It is theoretically possible that the Internet bubble isn't just a collection of people that like a cult believe something outrageous; it is possible that all the content you consume on social media is literally tailored specifically for you with nobody else ever seeing that content. All the comments could be fake. All the content could be fake and you would never know, unless you actively searched for it (which means you first need to have some awareness of how dystopian it can get).

I noticed early (end 2020?) that any comment with mRNA or vaccine or Covid was shadowbanned. Including links to official studies.
Due to my low social credit rating due to the shadow-bans, my replies are often shadowbanned by default.
And the youtube-channel-operator often has to allow my post to be visible.
This low social credit rating seems to go away after some months, or maybe my rating suddenly went up.

Seems to me that ALL links, even to Youtube itself, get shadowbanned, except those by the video's uploader.

It's likely that you're just commenting on a channel that manually approves all of their comments or has strict spam filters. Try commenting on a couple other videos from small, unrelated channels

I never comment on YouTube (and also my browser doesn't keep history or cookies), but one day i saw an AMV which i liked and decided to let the guy know. So i logged in made the comment and the next time I open the video, it's gone?? I decided in that moment, screw everything

when i read the comments on any youtube channel, i always get the feeling that everything is auto-generated by AI.

i dont think any of the comments are real, when you post comments on youtube you might as well be screaming into a paper bag.

Every time I see a youtube link I just do not click it. I do not use youtube at all at this point.

I know a youtuber IRL. They let me know that most of my comments are screened out automatically until they approve of them. (Could be taken as insulting). The censorship on Odysee (which handles comments for LBRY) far is worse.
