I know a woman who would always put their huge purse on the roof of her car; before she opened the door. Habitually.

She was surprised when she noticed the drivers side roof was covered in scratches. It never occurred to her that she could be scuffing up her car.

The mild scratches could easily have been buffed out, but she was exceedingly unpleasant and I didn't feel like mentioning it.
