I suspect this is less of a "woke" problem and more of a "no one pays for magazines anymore because everything is on the Internet for free" problem.

Transition to digital is probably the main issue. Pushing the woke agenda likely accelerated SI's demise.

In my business career I have worked directly for the #1 top Exec of many companies and many countries. An item pops to my head only because I have seen with my own eyes ghastly disasters of that firm because the boss ordered it to be so. Stupid fool mistakes that cost therm loss of millions of cash dollars. With this in mind there are people of decision-making who apparently believe that mainstream normal people would enjoy seeing femboys and trannies shoved in our faces and is that true? As an example do normal men like seeing a girly-boy with a dick pretending to be a girl? It is a clear example of idiots in charge.

At very least it shows that whoever made the decision to push the woke nonsense didn't consider the target market before making the decision- like Bud Light and their debacle. They may and probably should never fully recover.

Print Media has been in decline for decades.

This has nothing to do with being woke.

Woke is a disease that stands to alienate major portions of markets with every entity it infects. I'll grant you that it is mainly a result of the decline in print but a lot of sports fans were turned off by SI's trans swimsuit caper as well as other moves championing as normal the mental illness that is gender dysmorphia.

Yes, I have an issue with it... though my issue is with the cancer posing as leadership that insists on pushing it.

When institutions like SI begin pushing these agendas, people like myself who might otherwise throw support behind the foundering sports publication are happy to see it crash and burn.
