So he stabbed her multiple times and stole her purse. He was sentenced to 150 years in prison. Years later the same woman made debits with credit cards, spending borrowed money but failing to pay her debt.... so the banks sued her in court. The money she borrowed and would not pay back was far more than the gas money she was asked for. At least she did not stab anyone and she did not go to prison for her debt.
I am reminded of a teaching of Jesus Christ which could help us avoid many problems in life: Give to those that ask of you, hoping for nothing in return.
If someone asks you for help, it is usually right for you to be merciful and help. Even if you lose a little money, that is better than being stabbed and nearly killed, isn't it? And for those people who go to a church, should we not believe what God's word says? Let him be the judge and let him exact revenge. If we love everyone that God puts in our path, he will repay us for whatever we gave.
If someone asks you for help, consider saying "yes". It could save your life.
