Well... saidit is here at least

[–]sawboss 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (24 children)

But it's full of degenerate commie scum.

[–]gooddeath 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Meh. Better than voat. At least every other post here isn't about the BIG BAD JEWS.

[–]solder0 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, voat got saturated with that on every damn subverse and it all went down hill fast.

And deplorable alt-right rejects.

And censorship of good faith posts and comments.

And censorship of good faith posts and comments.

Because I deleted your minions meme posted in the wrong sub?

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (18 children)

It was posted in the only correct place I ever would have posted it. There was no other reason to post it. It was very intentional. It was and still is funny to me - and maybe to others - but we'll never know because my good faith post was censored.

Sure maybe it wasn't complex. Maybe it was too simple and basic "dad" humour. But your arbitrary censorship of my non-divisive post was not good form. Especially when you did nothing about the OnA guys or the Incel banning. No leader or follower is perfect. So maybe dredging these up is unfair or poor form too. But censoring a minion post? Really? Is that the straw that breaks the camel's back?

[–]magnora7 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (17 children)

I removed it because it was obviously in the wrong sub. Minion pictures don't belong in nottheonion.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (16 children)

It was NotTheMinion in NotTheOnion. A bad pun to be sure. And maybe just maybe some others would have appreciated or hated it too but we'll never know because you censored it.

[–]magnora7 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (13 children)

Still the wrong sub. Didn't belong there, sorry.

I guess you're the decider cause no one else got to weigh in.

[–]magnora7 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

Yeah I am the decider. That's what an admin is?

[–]VantaFount 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, but every once in a long while you find a calm, and thoughtful place that you can help to bloom.
Right now, that's Saidit for me.

My biggest problem is that every time one of these big sites becomes popular, it kills all of the little hobbyist forums. Before reddit, there used to be dozens of forums that I would visit. Now they are all practically abandoned. Which would have been fine, but now reddit starts censoring certain subs randomly, and there is no place to find the communities I used to go to.

Kind of like when wal-mart comes to a town, lowers their prices so low it shuts down all the mom-and-pop stores, and then jacks their prices back up.

This is why you can't depend on a centralized site forever. Federation and decentralization are needed.

This of big websites like pubs, or clubs.

They have a life cycle, and they come and go.

Mastodon might be worth checking out for you, easy beginners test: https://instances.social

[–]sawboss 1 insightful - 3 fun1 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 3 fun -  (6 children)

Mastodon doesn't welcome alternative opinions. I guess it has that in common with SaidIt.

[–]Mnemonic 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

That depends on the instance.

[–]sawboss 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Are there any that aren't run by degenerate commie scum?

[–]Mnemonic 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Yes, though I'm supposed to be a commie according to you so it would be better for you to look for yourself. There are search engines and look up lists available that can help you find your spot.

why are you so committed to divisionism?

[–]magnora7 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

He's been banned after breaking the pyramid of debate rules many times earlier today. I agree he seemed ridiculously committed to pushing divide-and-conquer material on saidit

[–]FormosaOolong 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Whew, thank you. Like you, I don't prefer banning but this person seemed like he'd come off his meds and gone on a mission to divide and disrupt across the board. Much respect for the very wide berth you gave him before taking this action.

Commies don't deserve nice things.

sawboss doesn't deserve Commies.

Saidit can avoid becoming reddit simply by not allowing posts to be totally eliminated. Locked and links disabled, of course, but never totally erased.

There are no opinions dangerous enough that they need to be erased.
