But the the Federal Reserve has an interest in preserving the petrodollar, as countries can only buy US oil with US dollars, which at this point is the thing propping the dollar up. The US dollar is not backed by gold, silver or even productivity at this point, just oil, and Russia has a lot of oil and they don't sell it for US dollars. That's the core of the issue. That and Ukraine forced the issue by bombing Russian Ukrainian citizens in Eastern Ukraine and allowing NATO to place nuke missiles on the Russian border. They were warned over and over not to do that by Russia but they did it anyway to force the war, which for all intents and purposes, considering all the countries involved, is World War 3.
