I'm sure this is the case for a lot of people, both here/on reddit and IRL when people have to deal with these idiots at work/school/social circles etc. I'm a straight white dude but I have a few good friends who are gay and want nothing more than to live their lives and don't go in for any of this shit. Sadly, as long as the T still gets lumped in with the rest of y'all, overall acceptance of gays/lesbians will suffer.

This I agree with 100%. They have pretty much destroyed the lesbian community that is for sure. I always felt badly for young lesbians trying to date when dating apps banned them for not wanting to date TIMS.

Oh, the gay subs are probably untouched. The gay community has largely gone unscathed, mainly because women who identify as trans are far less violent and belligerent than men who identify as trans have been towards the lesbians who reject them.

I think the real damage of the trans community is going to be seen in like 10-15 years when all these kids swept up in the trans wave discover that they were really just young gay and lesbian children targetted at a young age by an insidious movement.

Don't get me wrong, what they're currently doing to gay and lesbian spaces is bad but there's going to be waves of young children swept up in this movement because their parents thought a little girl wanting to join rugby means that she's trans not maybe just a regular butch lesbian woman or even a heterosexual tomboy woman or literally anything else except trans.

One of the major lies perpetuated by the trans movement is that detransitioning rates are low; the reality is the transgender movement actively lobbies against scientific studies that would look into this and get accurate data. The trans movement also actively tries to downplay any detransitioners as being unimportant because they don't want transgenderism as being seen as anything other than pure, stunning, and brave for all involved.

The reality is maybe detransition rates are much higher than we know. Maybe they would be much higher if there wasn't a huge stigma in the community against people who've detransitioned. Maybe there's not a lot of official detransition because people who realize they made a mistake don't see much other choice than going with what they identify as now, especially if they've had an irreversible genital surgery. We simply don't know.

I keep thinking about this.

They behave exactly as men do. As women, we are socialized to play well with others, share, play nice, etc., etc.

I am generalizing, of course, but it is our socialization.

Little by little, the TIMS demanded more and more of everyone. Language changes and pronoun changes had now somehow morphed into not only do they demand that we agree that they are women but that we, as actual xx chromosome females, must also be muscled out of anything female.

And they got away with their demands by constantly saying "what's the harm? we're just asking for respect". In a lot of ways, they used the success and the same arguments made by the LGB movement to gain traction in society, and we all told ourselves we were doing the right thing by being accepting. But LGB people never made unscientific claims about their own identity; it was simply that people should have the right to be romantically or sexually involved with the same sex. That was it.

Meanwhile, the trans movement was founded on delusion, and then more and more delusional demands until trans ideology was built up to where it is now: a ridiculous house of cards, relying on society to go along with its lies, capable of telling people homophobia is progressive and validating, and that women are not allowed to have their own space, their own sporting events, and that science that shows sexual dimorphism is literally bigotry.

I am male, and I have raged at my friends when they make casual jokes about how JK Rowling is a transphobe, and don't realize how infuriating it is to hear them mansplaining how her feelings are transphobic and therefore invalid even though the lot of them haven't even bothered to read her essay. A lot of gay men are thankfully waking up to the fact that lesbians are in real danger from the movement, but there's still a lot of gay men who haven't realized that they're extremely fortunate that purely because of the sex they were born as they're not currently in the crosshairs of the transgender movement's ire, and that women are actively under attack by a well-organized group of delusional heterosexual males. It's fucking infuriating to see heterosexual men shaming lesbians for not wanting "girldick" of all things, or a women's shelter having dead rats nailed to their door and defunded because they specifically do not shelter people of the male sex, for the sake of the women they're serving. The entire movement that was built up during the Stonewall era has been invaded by a parasite that's going to tear us apart and set the gay rights movement back centuries at this rate!

The reality is that the gay (male) community needs to really step up its vocal support of women who are speaking out against this far more than it currently is. Women are perfectly capable of fighting for their own rights of course (women's suffrage is a testament to this), but the trans lobby wants to frame the women speaking out against the abuses of the trans movement as something like "bad feminism" or "bad lesbians", and claim that it's not representative of the LGB community. They benefit from using this as a wedge to frame lesbians who speak out against it as not being true members of the LGB community.

For everyone's benefit the sane members of the LGB community all need to speak out about these issues, because it signals that it's okay to be critical of the claims of the trans community, essentially helping to normalize it and showing that criticism of the trans community is far more widespread than they'd have you believe. For the sake of everyone being hurt by this (women, children, even the members of the trans community), we need to shift the power and attention away from the trans community, who want very badly to maintain control of the public discourse, and have so far been very successful despite being a minority (a very, very vocal and belligerent minority).

No, unfortunately not. While there have always been a minority who have seen LGB as the enemy, the vast majority of people never cared much either way. They'd parrot the party line, and if they'd been fed a lot of it, maybe they were a bit uncomfortable when aware of being in the company of LGB people. The real hate and vitriol, however, was limited.

This is why the broad reversal of public acceptance was possible. For the majority, people being LGB just wasn't something that affected their day-to-day life, and their aversion, if any, was in the abstract and mostly fueled by rhetoric based on "facts" that could not hold up even to a casual examination.

What the TRAs are doing now, however, affects the general public in many direct ways in both direct and indirect ways, with the bulk of the negatives not being immediately obvious, which is why we haven't seen more of a backlash yet. And they are doing all of this under the LGBTQ+ banner, which means that when the backlash comes, it will not target the TQ+ specifically.

Instead it will refer to the evils brought on the public by the "homosexual agenda" etc, since the old LGB-hating minority will most likely be the ones ready and able to lead the counterattack under the battlecry of "we told you so!".

Unlike the previous times they've lead the charge, this time much more of the general public will have a personal stake in the outcome, their own grudges to settle and feel that they previously tried "live and let live", and tried giving an inch, only to have LGBTQ+ advocating violence against them and coming for the whole arm.

Unless the LGB and its allies can successfully divorce themselves from the TQ+ in the minds of the general public, by separating from the TQ+ organizationally, publicly calling out and opposing the TQ+ insanity, and show how the LGB is at least as much of a victim of the TQ+ agenda as the general public, I fear that we will the ones who end up taking the brunt of the backlash, once it inevitably comes.

Yeah. There's a real and deserved backlash against TQ+, but there's the potential that religious conservatives will use that as momentum to also attack gay rights at the same time. Society as a whole didn't believe Trump could happen even though we saw the warning signs, it's the same thing really. We take for granted that as a society we've made massive advancements for the LGB community but we have to assume that those could just as easily come under assault at some point.

This is all mostly organized by an absolutely insane man in a dress nicknamed Bardfinn (or Penny). Searching his name on kiwifarms brings up a lot of evidence of what he's been doing, collected by an user called Nykysnottrans (who sometimes derisively refers to Bardfinn as Goth Dad). I don't like kiwifarms and don't care about the details of Bardfinn's personal life, but the documentation of how he's been stalking and targeting reddit users for months is interesting.

It's the same reason people in East Germany became inoffizielle mitarbeiter and collaborated with the Stasi, it made them feel imporant to spy on their neighbors and narc them to the state security service.

Surveillance is a very powerful drug and Bardfinn is an addict because he has the full blessings of Reddit to cyberstalk, profile and blacklist their unassuming users going about their business, unaware that Bardfinn is doing all this behind their back, until one day Bardfinn suddenly corners them in a angry reply comment with: "I see you have been posting a lot in /r/WhateverDude and /r/SFWdude, you are one of dem Nazis aren't you, I been watchin'ya boy." Bardfinn wants to infect everyone on Reddit with his own PTSD hypervigilance, cornering hapless users to let them know he's been cyberstalking them to intimidate them with the knowledge they're being watched is how he does it.

It would be wonderful if Bardfinn was now used as a test-case for Reddit's anti harassment rules, because if there is one massive cyberstalker on the site following users around and letting them know they are being followed for the purpose of driving them off the site (the rules appear to specifically ban that) it's obviously Bardfinn and his bunch.

Because if he did, if Bardfinn was forced to make his supposed "research" public that led to all these bans, Reddit would have to answer for the fact that they're allowing their users to be cyberstalked and profiled behind their backs by this guy - which is in violation of many laws, including EU laws.

I would not be at all surprised if it turns out (and I don't have any proof for this, it's just the worst case scenario I can come up with) that Reddit were paying Bardfinn under the table to cyberstalk and data-mine their users for them in order to make it seem like they were "doing something about the Nazis on the site" and that "self-policing on the part of our community of mods is really working".

There is no self-policing here, there's only a feverish, controlfreak, obsessive, paranoid mod with a horrible reputation amongst the user base getting increasingly more powerhungry, openly hostile, intimidating and downright condescending towards random hapless users and the mods of all the subs he hates. Anyone who honestly believes that /r/detrans are white power neonazis collaborating with fascists belongs in a mental hospital away from all computers strapped to a bed vomitting on themselves from the high dose tranquilizers, not on Reddit moderating anything.

As to why Reddit is tolerating him, that's what every Reddit user and moderator who has encountered this persistent pest and menace has been asking themselves: How is this vermin allowed to wreck havoc on Reddit so openly and for so long? Answer: very likely because he claims to know Steve Huffman aka spez (Reddit's CEO) personally. It's most likely through pure nepotism that he's able to get away with all this.

It seems the mods of /r/detrans are unaware of how Bardfinn has been targeting them for months. Maybe someone should tell them, but don't be surprised if doing so results in reddit banning all your accounts:

On top of the first wave of mass banning, with r/LGBdropTheT, r/terfisaslur and r/gendercriticalguys now gone I don't have a reason to go back to reddit. The claims they make that transgenderism is not a mental illness are also misleading; transgenderism is itself not the illness, but rather a symptom of the illness, be it dysphoria, or acting on autogynephilia in an unhealthy way. I didn't mind when several other subs I frequented were banned, because they were all a bit (or a lot) controversial.

LGBdroptheT getting banned was what finally convinced me to seek out alternatives. I'm glad to see the desktop version looks just like Old Reddit, with a better voting system. If BaconReader ever gets updated to support this site, I'll be happy as a clam at high tide.

I'll still have to stick around Reddit for the niche subs, like electricians and 3dprinting, as well as image hosting. Definitely unsubscribing from WPT, facepalm, iamatotalpieceofshit, and the rest of the 'outrage of the hour' subs. I don't need that BS negativity in my life.

I'm not defending the banning of LGBDropTheT buuuut in the time I browsed the sub reddit(not a member) I did see a few threads that had some closet racists remarks if that's any underlying cause. since reddit seems more in tune to banning any and all things racist fast as hell now. For example in a thread about Trans people making everything about them and ignoring The LGB community, a few people compared Trans people to BLM, saying that they were basically just screaming for attention.(I seriously wonder where race came from in regards to sexuality)

Blows my mind how we can live in such an enlightened age when it comes to mental illness (and science in general) but STILL fail to see gender delusion for what it is. Only viewed some replies so far. But I see comments, and I understand the feelings. But we MUST remember that it was not the entire trans community that got the Reddit sub banned. ONLY the extreme radical minority of their cult leadership, and their cult followers did.

I'm not trans. Just an older gay guy. And I don't understand what it is to be trans. And the VAST majority within the trans community want exactly what we want: to live our lives in peace...with respect coming in and going out.

Feel the anger! Scream at the sky! Just remember that 90% of the trans people did nothing to us. Don't hate those that don't hate us. We, as a group, must remember who the opposition is and not be angry for the sake of being angry.

Our foe is a cult! They think they are all powerful, all knowing. But they do not have the support of everyone who identifies as "trans."

Let's not become who they say we are. Know the enemy. Let's not lash out at the innocent people...most of whom agree with us. They agree that same-sex attraction as nothing to do with gender or gender identity.
