I really hate people nowadays, social media and the internet is a problem. I realize the irony in my saying this on social media/internet ... but goddamn, the grifting is so real. Just propaganda and paid shills intentionally destroying everything that makes us human and relate to each other.

When users get all worked up over it, not gonna lie, I enjoy the drama. But I still sit back and watch it all while I'm both laughing and horrified.

Indeed. I realize coof lockdowns make this harder, but: it is extremely important to have real meatspace interactions. Sure, there is no drama farming and conversations are typically about the weather or some other vanilla topic, but it will restore your faith in humanity at least a little bit.

I'll say it and be the bad guy, since nobody else is going to. This is counterproductive and a step in the wrong direction.

If you want to limit your event to people to are actively in same sex relationships, that makes sense. Banning a subset of people who are in same sex relationships is crazy, which I'm not sure they've thought of or are intentionally doing. As witch hunting lesbians can tell you, there are many non homosexuals in relationships with women who are passing themselves off as lesbians.

What you'll get at this "exclusive homosexual event" is a mixed bag of homosexuals and people who are passing as homosexual. You are giving them every incentive to lie, too, since this is the real pride for actual gay people in gay relationships.
