It's this bizarre belief that you get to "identify" with or "feel comfortable" using certain words, then twist that word's definition around you, to fit what you are. Which isn't how language works. If you allowed that, you'd have 8 billion different definitions for the same descriptor, which makes it useless as a descriptor, since it isn't actually describing anything.

This is how we have bizzare crap like lesbian definition being non-men loving non-men. Or even saying a lesbian can like men. Asexual who loves sex and actively seeks it - not to mention asexual spectrum which justifies the fact you still lust after people as long as you say it happens rarely to you or under certain circumstances. And then how being trans doesn't require having a psychiatric condition.

How many people are like this girl? Trying to work out their sexuality because all their trender-captured peers promised that there will be something intrinsic and unique there to be discovered to explain why they're a depressed/alienated teen. Then, when there's nothing much to be found- they don't like that answer and so switch right over to gender identity to keep up the self-discovery "journey", to find the special thing they were promised by everyone to explain things. In this case, she discovers she's "gay". And suddenly, it all makes sense!
