I'm going to have to begrudgingly agree with this one, someone will abuse this power for maximum lulz and butthurt on the first day. Maybe not in this exact manner, but definitely bait and switch.

Only way I could see to avoid it is if there's a time limit on how long the edit function is available after a post is made. Or maybe once it hits a certain number of retweets/likes, the edit function is locked out.

I've read there's a 30 minute time limit as well as it being marked that it was edited and possibly even an edit log like on Facebook

If they don’t provide some logging and marking of edits, they will have broken twitter….here’s hoping they screw this up!

Yeah idk how many people remember image linking in the past but people used to frequently post something with an image link then after their post was approved by moderators they would upload a new image pointing at the same url and you would get some really crazy shit posted in places it shouldn't. Then some moderators ignored the posts because they had already been approved.

Oh for fucks sake NO ONE is talking about trans people and genocide except trans people themselves. I desperately want to see a holocaust survivor tell them that being misgendered is NOT the same thing.

i have literally never ever seen anyone call for violence of any kind against trans people ever even in areas of the internet where i'd expect it. the closest anyone gets is saying they will kill themselves. but i have seen pretty much every trans person say "they want to genocide us"

Isn't that how Reddit or FB works?

I wonder how many people made the obvious response to that post.

What's the obvious response?

"I can't wait either"?

I hope this happens. In fact I hope an army of trolls completely takes over all social media, hacks it, defaces it, and makes it all completely unusable. I hope Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, whatever, all of it, I hope it all gets nuked. It's a blight on humanity.

Nobody is allowed to have a voice questioning the official narrative. The internet has become far too popular to allow just anybody to become influential. Sometimes a person sneaks through like Joe Rogan, but then the media goes silent about him, searches get deranked, and his influence is limited to people who were already fans and seek him out.

On reddit there are databases of wrongthink and the troll armies will weaponize reporting to silence ideological opponents. Twitter manipulates feeds to silence them. I'm sure every platform has something similar.

Forums are important though, people should be able to share their ideas freely without having it manipulated to hell and back.

Thanks for the idea.

The "edit" feature will only be good if there's an open transparent history - like on a wiki.

you'd think if you paid someone for an illustration of you, you could ask them to make it less of an obvious tell. i can see it from the fucking screenshot.

So, exactly how it was always possible to do on Facebook? Oh no, the horror.
