Subs are allowed to limit open discussion as long as they remove themselves from /s/all, which GC has done. I think this is a reasonable trade-off, since any post you find on the frontpage will be open to all points of view.

GC is not a debate sub (on reddit they had GCdebatesQT and askradfem for debate) and they also have historically asked males not to post/banned males for posting so I'm thinking that you already knew this and were trying to get GC banned here.

GC didn't generally ban people for being male, but it was expected that they would not try to intrude in the conversation too much since it was supposed to be a female-centric space.

The sub /s/Gender_Critical was given to me by another user here and is in no way affiliated with the old r/GenderCritical, I wish that was made clearer in all these comments above. There is no unified "Gender*Critical". I complained about censorship of women on GC and the sub was given to me in the process so I tried to do something with it I thought was appropriate. But it has no affiliation with GC whatsoever, I've never been a mod at GC and while I like a lot of their content, I also disagree with some of it and feel their worldview is too rigid and limits thinking.

GenderCritical was made by refugees from /r/GenderCritical. I didn't like that I'd seen some unexpected stuff silently removed on /r/GenderCritical, and I said this publicly, and somebody made and offered me the sub /s/Gender_Critical, which I accepted. Now /s/Gender_Critical is a women's discussion sub for similar topics as /s/GenderCritical, but it tries to not enforce any particular ideology and to be more transparent about what content is censored. There is more information in the /s/Gender_Critical sidebar and in the announcement post.

I posted a thread about AHS wanting to ban r/Radical_Feminists, and someone on here decided to post a link to my reddit's profile to discredit me basically (I have sympathy for the gender critical approach, but I'm not on board with everything honestly). A lot of women were condoning this childish behaviour, so I don't feel safe posting there anymore. Even if I disagree with some of their stuff, I literally never tried to "debate" or give my opinion, because it's not a debate sub, but if I respect their opinions, I want to be respected as well and I don't want my other profiles linked. They have a very narrow minded vision of the world, no nuances is allowed, that reminds me too much of reddit. They're mad at TRA for going through post history to find terfy stuff, but apparently it's okay if it's a GC girl lol

I have some criticizing towards the trans community, but I'm more interested in the "abolish gender stereotypes" part of GC tbh

On Gender_Critical, for being assumed to be male. On GenderCritical, I think for disagreeing with the oppression narrative of women.

I have been banned from Reddit for quite a bit of bullshit reasons, but even for Reddit, being banned for identity bullshit within five hours of having set up my account would have been a speed record. I cannot believe what gigantic hypocrites these people are. They complain about the way Reddit is going, but they are too damn dense to wrap their head around that this is completely consistent with their ideology, all the tranny nonsense that is going on there, the identity politics and how people are silenced for being in this or that group, for being factual arguments people with mod abilities just find offensive, not because they are wrong, how people just follow party lines, while pretending to honestly debate.

If this keeps on going, if there will be more "Reddit refugees" who were simply on the wrong side of the power dynamics, while being this clueless as to the root causes of the censorship, I would not be surprised if saidit went the same way. It's not a place I am going to invest any effort into. It will just go the same way the countless other free speech alternatives have gone: They always advertise with free speech, draw in users, a base, and once their position is secure enough they pull a bait and switch. Reddit was supposed to be about freedom of expression, debate and all that, so was Twitter, so was YouTube. I left reddit to avoid the very black or white stance there about feminism/LGBT issues debates.
